ALL DEAN HAD TO DO WAS CALL OUT TO CASTIEL AND HE SWOOPS RIGHT IN. SAMMY HAS BEEN TRYING ALL YEAR WITH NO AVAIL, AND DEAN JUST HAD TO SAY A FEW WORDS AND SUDDENLY THERE HE IS. YOU WANNA KNOW WHY THIS IS?

CASTIEL ONLY ANSWERS TO DEAN BECAUSE THEY'RE BOYFRIENDS AND HE TRUSTS HIM MORE THAN SAM. SUCK ON THAT, BITCHES!!

(This is of course based only on this clip alone, I have no idea what will happen otherwise after this clip or the episode itself, but I found it hilarious because haven't we been discussing this that if Castiel won't answer to Sam, he'll definitely answer to Dean? This kind of proves that, lol! XD XD XD)

In other words, Ben Edlund ILU. ♥

Ben Edlund and Jeremy Carver were the strongest writers on the show, in my opinion, and were able to balance out characters and the story evenly and it didn't feel like forced information or situations and interactions with other characters and nothing felt out of place. There was a solidness to their writing that I loved. I'm still sad that Jeremy Carver is gone, but at least Edlund is sticking around and giving us treats like this. :) :)

SO STOKED FOR THIS EPISODE, BB! :DDDD

Now that I checked, then yeah, I can agree. Edlund has written some of my top favourite episodes of the whole show and I can't wait to see more from him. And Carver wrote some fantastic episodes as well. He's not with the show anymore? D: Well, damn.

Same here ♥!!

Yeah, Carver left after last season and moved onto Being Human. Which sucks, I would have preferred either him or Edlund to be the showrunners because at least they understand what is going on, unlike Gamble. But yeah, their episodes are my favorite ones from the show and it's why I'm looking forward to 6.03 because I am getting such a good vibe from it. This clip alone is proof of that.

Okay. That sucks big time. I still want to know why exactly Sera's the showrunner, when she's certainly not the one who understands the characters and the story the best. Oh well, some things we can't do anything about.
It does say good things about an episode when you already get such a good feeling from a short clip alone. Is it Friday yet!

Part of me really hopes that with enough complaints they may switch showrunners sometime this season, but that's kind of hopeful wishing and yeah other than that we can't do much about it rallying, pitchforks and torches aside. But it makes me question and side-eye Kripke for even considering her at all. Whatever.

Hee, this clip really feels like the show for the first time since the season started. I can't wait to see it fully!

Yeah, same here!

That's awesome~ not that I didn't like the 2nd episode too (although the writer of it is apparently new and so that's why something felt a little lacking), but from that clip- it really does look fantastic. (Of course, my Dean/Cas-shipper heart is jumping with joy.)

lol, yeah my shipper heart for Dean/Cas leaped with joy after watching this the first time. And with the second and third and fourth time replaying it. I want the episode now, dammit! Especially since I'm not entirely sure I'll get to watch it on Friday or the weekend since I'll be in Chicago.

I still need to know whether they are gonna do a live-streaming, since they gotta know that the new episode is airing Friday when the convention starts and not everyone can have Internet access, or reschedule the panels and events so people can go to their hotel rooms and watch the new episode when it airs or something. IT IS SO UNFAIR, YET I AM TO DECIDE WHETHER WATCH THE EPISODE OR SEE THE ACTORS IN PERSON. HMMMMM. TOUGH CALL, EH? lol! ;p

Hear! Hear! Before season six I had my concerns about Sera being show runner (I've never really liked her writing) and the fact that her season opener was just a mess makes me think my concerns were valid.

Yeah, and people seem to think we're being too judgmental because "oh give it a chance you're hating too much." Well, given that Sera Gamble has been part of the show since the beginning that's no excuse for her lack of understanding anything with her writing. Not to mention our complaints are legitimate concerns for the direction of the show, which we do care about. Because you know, why should this show end with a crappy showrunner who doesn't understand jackshit about the show she's even working on?

I would prefer someone who's only been there for a short while but actually gets the show and its characters whether than someone who only wants to write certain things on her own agenda.

I would cut some Sera some slack IF she was new, but she's been with the show since the beginning so there really is no excuse for not understanding fundamentals about the show/writing, there is certainly no excuse for how OOC everyone felt in her season opener.

I have to wonder if Sera didn't become show runner because Dawn O wanted it. Dawn has said she doesn't get Supernatural and I can see Sera's sappy/OOC writing appealing to Dawn.

So true. I get the sinking feeling that Sam's going to get the big storyline (ie What Wrong With Sam?) along with lots of shirtless fanservice (he's already shown up shirtless in one of the promos, for crying out loud) while Dean's 'big storyline' is just going to be his OOC man-pain over Lisa and Ben. Why exactly does he care about Gumby Girl and her kid again? It's certainly not because the writers showed us that relationship or that Lisa is as awesome as everyone keeps telling me she is; she's waiting for Dean to come back because she wants a guy (who's job could get her and Ben killed) with PTSD to be Ben's daddy. And I say that as someone who really wanted to like Lisa. I just don't get how THAT translates to understanding Dean, which I've been told translates to awesome!Lisa. There's understanding someone and than there's being nothing more than a prop in their story.

But it wouldn't make sense considering that Kripke is still in charge somewhat of his show, unless he had no choice in this manner. Because at first he said he was still the showrunner and then shortly thereafter it was announced that he wasn't anymore. It seems rather sketchy to me based on the limited information about this process and why S6 was even approved when Kripke had wanted only five. Just, idk.

Word to everything you said here. I am still bitter/frustrated/angry at that whole setup in general that I just want to go SERA GAMBLE YOU SUCK GTFO! Which you know, most of fandom does I think. There's nothing "awesome" about Lisa's situation, it's so unfair and a complete disservice to her character because I used to think she was a sensible woman, but everything about this just, no. *resists to go into ranting mode*

Definitely a prop for the show. There's no development or background to Lisa other than her being a falsehood and crutch for Dean. That's it, nothing more. I honestly hope they just write her out completely because they are continually ruining her bit by bit.

Really? I'm not in the main part of the fandom, but several people on my f-list have said after 6x02 that Lisa is awesome and I just can't figure out why that is. Waiting around for some very broken guy to come back so you can have a father for your son is only awesome if your a 1950's housewife. And here I thought the implication that she had waited years for Dean to come back and didn't have a life outside of Dean in her (badly written) reintroduction episode was bad, at least then it had only been implied. I'm starting to think Sera is even more incapable of writing deep believable female characters than Krikpe was. Why is it so hard?!

I don't even understand Lisa motivations for wanting a guy as broken as Dean around her son in the first place. Is she really THAT in love with a guy she barely knows? And how exactly did Dean's PTSD translate to the best year of her life?

'I honestly hope they just write her out completely because they are continually ruining her bit by bit.'
As much as I don't like when Supernatural does that, I can't help but agree. At this point there really isn't anything the writers can do to make me interested in Lisa as a character or even like her all that much (not that I think they'll put much thought into her anyway) because they've already wasted several chances to make her more than Dean's tacked-on love interest/prop.

On a side note, I've read several fanfics set in season six where Lisa decides to end things with Dean so he can go back to hunting and all I can think is, 'Why can't she be written like THAT in canon!?'
