Misha is being snarkalicious on Twitter again, and I love it. ♥

Oh, I randomly found someone that said they hate Misha because they found him rude based on the comments he's made on Twitter and some of the shenanigans that happened at conventions, and I just have to laugh at that. Some people might not get his sense of humor or be interested with him in general and that's fine, but to hate him? Bitches please. That's like saying you hate Stephen Colbert because you don't understand the satire behind his persona as Stephen Colbert. Come on, get real. It's impossible to hate Misha. Hating on Misha is like the equivalent to kicking a puppy, it's just horrible and wrong and there's no reason for it.

So anyway moving on from that, I stole this from [livejournal.com profile] cheerful_earl because after the television meme, it's time to move onto books!

Day 01 - A book series you wish had gone on longer and/or a book series you wish would just freaking end already

Samurai Girl by Carrie Asai

It had only six books in the series, and while it's probably enough to tell what needed to be told about Heaven and her story, somehow I can't help but feel like it could have been extended more. However, some series have that boundary line and don't need to go on forever, which I can respect because quality over quantity and all of that. I really enjoyed the series, as young adult books go they were entertaining, and the structure of them were fascinating (illustrations were also gorgeous, ngl).

As for a series I wish would just end, I honestly wish that the ghostwriter for V.C. Andrews would just cease writing underneath her name, or just writing altogether, since he's practically insulting everything VCA did with her creativity and brilliance in writing that I think she'd be rolling in her grave right now. It's just embarrassing.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. I don't even understand feeling neutral towards Misha, how does one go about hating him?

Ooooooooooooooooooooooo, Book meme! I always love book recs/talks. <3

I don't even know, bb. :( I mean, I understand if people aren't fannish about him, but "hatred" is such a strong word to use. Misha hasn't done or said anything to even have someone even remotely dislike him. So I don't get it. But this is the SPN fandom, the irrational hate stems from something I don't understand or even want to understand.

Same here! :D Which is why I'm doing it. ;D

I was watching Spn with a friend who's not that into it and Cas come on the screen and she said she hated his actor, and literally my first reaction was ";______________; WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY." She doesn't like the Cas!voice, I guess, but she also didn't know anything else about him, so I sort of understand. Being in the fandom and still hating him confuses me.

From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
I think it's hilarious that there are people who have no interest in watching SPN, and yet absolutely love Misha based on what he's done/said in interviews/his Twitter. Or even people who just randomly watched an episode with Castiel and are all "idc about those two main dudes but this angel guy, gimme more!" XD

But yeah, people inside of fandom who hate him simply just to hate him is puzzling indeed. :S

people who hate Misha have no souls. wtf. rude? he's funny and irreverent. he's probably a rockstar in Japan, so STEP OFF NO SOULER!

From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
They just don't understand or appreciate his sense of sarcasm. I mean, Misha is one of those rare actors that loves playing with the fans and will definitely ham it up when necessary (re: all the time, lol). And what's not to love about someone who is willing to do that?

From: [identity profile] aubade-saudade.livejournal.com
some people have an overinflated sense of their own dignity. they think a mocking personality implies superiority or something.

i think he's just great at perceiving the absurd in any situation...OMG now i want him to play an Austen hero. how unlikely would that be? *sighs*

Date: 2010-08-17 02:43 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Or that being mocking in a sarcastic manner implies being rude, which is definitely not that case. And if anyone should be familiar with Misha by now would know the kind of wacky personality he has.

lol, I love his level of absurdity. ♥ It just makes Misha, well, Misha.

Oh no. How can anyone hate that man with such lovely blue eyes and smile?

I'm quite puzzled at the amount of hate at Misha/Castiel. Neither of them ever did anything to generate such. My guess is that the haters are probably sick and tired of hearing about the squee on Misha/Castiel by their friends which in turn makes them feeling hateful.

I think it has something to do with the twisted notion that he's the "third wheel", getting between the Sam/Dean and Jared/Jensen relationship. At least, that's the general argument I've found amongst this fandom, especially amongst the Wincesters and J2 fans anyway. In fact, I've seen no legitimate argument about why people would have negative feelings towards Misha. It's just illogical irrationality.

Date: 2010-08-17 03:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] carameltrap.livejournal.com
That.I remembering seeing that sort of argument on the third wheel before but it was in a game fandom. I don't understand these people's reasoning and logic to hate on Misha just for that. What has the poor guy ever done to deserve such hate aside from existing and just being part of the cast.

Date: 2010-08-17 08:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Only the hardcore tinhats would strongly be against Misha for such illogical reasoning. If people who watch the show but aren't really that into Misha/Castiel then that's fine, but there are those handfuls of crazies out there that take it a step too far.

Although thankfully not as far as some anti-fans....

LOL Hating on Misha is like the equivalent to kicking a puppy very apt analogy, how could any one hate someone so completly, absurdly adorable.

Date: 2010-08-17 04:15 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Hee, well it does fit. ;p

Clearly anyone that hates on this adorable dorky man has absolutely no soul and a cold, black heart. I can't understand why anyone would, to be honest though. It's almost like some are just waiting to stir up wank in being ~edgy or whatever, but you never know with this fandom....

Date: 2010-08-17 06:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fate-incomplete.livejournal.com
I tend to avoid certain parts of the fandom *cough*anonmeme*cough* as I really don't like the wank, especially the "hate" stuff about adorkable Misha or the J's and their spouses or the wank towards other fans and how they aren't doing the whole "fandom" thing the right way. Tends to just get me all grumpy, so yeah pretty much avoid large parts of the fandom, which is probably sad as I'm sure there are plenty of cool people out there who have genuinely interesting discussions. I largely stick to living in my head, a least if I'm a wanker to myself I probably deserved it...I venture out and chat with those on my flist cause I know they all enjoy similar things to me and are all superfreindlycuddly people...but anyway back on topic I don't understand how any one could possibly hate this insane freaky dork and those super smexy blue eyes, could see how people might not get him and his sense of humour but hate? Nope its a word that seems to get thrown around far to easily. Any way incase you couldn't tell I babble a lot...*hides and hopes she hasn't scared off new friend*....

Date: 2010-08-17 08:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Aww, I don't mind babbling. I do a lot of it myself. :)

But yes, I totally agree with you about the craziness of fandom. Sometimes it seems relatively sane, but then something happens and I'm both scared and ashamed to be associated with those kinds of people, so yeah I kinda bury myself in the sand whenever that happens. I just know from reports from many about the insane shenanigans that happens at conventions or elsewhere that just gives the rest of the saner fandom a bad name, you know? Which is why I stick to my own safety bubble and the other sane fans like myself. :D

ITA about "hate" being thrown around too easily, as well. I think people just don't understand Misha and don't get the love he gets, which would make them not care either way but some of them obviously make huge noise over it. So, idk. People are just strange.

People who hate Misha because they seemingly do not get him and his sense of humor amuse me greatly. Almost as much as the people that hate him because omg he hogs the spotlight from the Js and can't seperate Misha from their Cas hate because omg this show should only be about Dean/Sam!

Date: 2010-08-17 04:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Yeah. Plus, I haven't seen any other explanation other than that argument alone, which is rather amusing, if just a tad frightening. This is why I stay on the fringes to avoid such arguments from those people, since it goes around in circles of OMG MISHA/CASTIEL IS RUINING THE SHOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SAM'N'DEAN ONLY, NO OTHER CHARACTERS ALLOWED!!!111. Oh fandom, you be so redonkulous. *facepalm*

*brb continues to stare at adorkable icon*

How does one go about hating Misha Collins? I almost want to delve into it like a sociology experiment, but I think it would end up too scary. Because he's Misha. He's funny and irreverent and smart. And he can be a total sweetheart too- he was so nice when I met him. He rallied his fans to raise money for Haiti. He sent people truffles. That he made himself.

Whatever. Haters gonna hate.

Yay, book meme! I will be interested to see if we have crossover here too, although we already do, because seriously- Fake!VC Andrews needs to go. Years ago.

Samurai Girl sounds awesome!

For real now! Misha is like the most inoffensive person to ever grace this planet, and perhaps the entire known universe. But yeah, haters gonna hate for whatever reason they can justify.

Hehe, I bet there will be a few. ;D Yeah, the ghostwriter just has lost all touch with the originality of VCA's writing that it keeps resetting to the same story. Never mind how predictable the stories all are, and how wooden/cardboard the main characters are created to be. It's like yeah, whatever dude. Just stop.

I think you'd like Samurai Girl. ABC Family made a miniseries out of it a year ago or so.

How can anyone hate Misha? He's one of the kindest people I've ever met.
It seems there are still people who don't understand that Misha's Twitter persona is not Misha. But even then I don't understand the hate. Some people might dislike his sense of humour, okay. But hate? That's such a strong word.

Same here. He loves to joke around but when you meet him in person he's the loveliest, friendliest and nicest person ever. I still find it hard to believe that there are people who don't understand the meaning behind Misha's Twitter. I just don't get it, but whatever. Haters gonna hate, and the rest of us are just gonna frolic in the lovefest. <3333

Exactly, there are always going to be haters. I've experienced how amazing and lovely Misha is and I won't ever let anyone convince me otherwise.

By the way, I now see why for you Castiel is the Six to Dean's Gaius. I just watched "Home" and in that very last scene I could basically hear Castiel say the exact same words to Dean. :)

Date: 2010-08-17 08:24 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Agreed, all on points. :)

Heeee. There's plenty more examples throughout, which you'll get to and you'll love I'm sure, but I loved that quote at the end of "Home" since it's exactly the kind of phrase Castiel would say to Dean. The parallels is just so uncanny, I swear.

True, as I've been guilty in doing the same. But I think some people carelessly throw around the word "hate" without having any real meaning behind it.

HAY HAY HAY, GURL! :D NICE TO SEE YOU BACK! No, I don't have either Facebook or Twitter yet, sadly.

lol, oh Lord your parents. They do realize that his show airs on Comedy Central at least? The fact that it's a political satire and he parodies conservatives and actually makes fun of their stupidity rather than support it? You'd think they would put two and two together, but alas, thus further demonstrates the stupidity of some Americans who will believe anything. No offense, since they are your parents, but seriously now. That just makes me facepalm and laugh so hard.

*hugs you* Welcome back to teh ELJAY, bb!

I guess their heads would explode when they realize that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are boyfriends best friends, yeah? ;)

When Misha came to SPN, I loved him. Then, he moved to Twitter and his comments were a bit much. But then I learned to understand his humor and the way he was and now I can't get enough of Misha Collins. Its just a part of who he is. If some people can't understand that, then they shouldn't be a fan.

I see soo many of these 30 days memes and I feel like I should take part in some of them, but I always lose track and forget to post on them for days. Haha!
