I'm bored, must be Monday.
Aug. 16th, 2010 04:32 pmMisha is being snarkalicious on Twitter again, and I love it. ♥
Oh, I randomly found someone that said they hate Misha because they found him rude based on the comments he's made on Twitter and some of the shenanigans that happened at conventions, and I just have to laugh at that. Some people might not get his sense of humor or be interested with him in general and that's fine, but to hate him? Bitches please. That's like saying you hate Stephen Colbert because you don't understand the satire behind his persona as Stephen Colbert. Come on, get real. It's impossible to hate Misha. Hating on Misha is like the equivalent to kicking a puppy, it's just horrible and wrong and there's no reason for it.
So anyway moving on from that, I stole this from
cheerful_earl because after the television meme, it's time to move onto books!
Day 01 - A book series you wish had gone on longer and/or a book series you wish would just freaking end already
Samurai Girl by Carrie Asai
It had only six books in the series, and while it's probably enough to tell what needed to be told about Heaven and her story, somehow I can't help but feel like it could have been extended more. However, some series have that boundary line and don't need to go on forever, which I can respect because quality over quantity and all of that. I really enjoyed the series, as young adult books go they were entertaining, and the structure of them were fascinating (illustrations were also gorgeous, ngl).
As for a series I wish would just end, I honestly wish that the ghostwriter for V.C. Andrews would just cease writing underneath her name, or just writing altogether, since he's practically insulting everything VCA did with her creativity and brilliance in writing that I think she'd be rolling in her grave right now. It's just embarrassing.

Date: 2010-08-17 01:33 am (UTC)I'm quite puzzled at the amount of hate at Misha/Castiel. Neither of them ever did anything to generate such. My guess is that the haters are probably sick and tired of hearing about the squee on Misha/Castiel by their friends which in turn makes them feeling hateful.

Date: 2010-08-17 04:15 am (UTC)Clearly anyone that hates on this adorable dorky man has absolutely no soul and a cold, black heart. I can't understand why anyone would, to be honest though. It's almost like some are just waiting to stir up wank in being ~edgy or whatever, but you never know with this fandom....

Date: 2010-08-17 08:16 pm (UTC)But yes, I totally agree with you about the craziness of fandom. Sometimes it seems relatively sane, but then something happens and I'm both scared and ashamed to be associated with those kinds of people, so yeah I kinda bury myself in the sand whenever that happens. I just know from reports from many about the insane shenanigans that happens at conventions or elsewhere that just gives the rest of the saner fandom a bad name, you know? Which is why I stick to my own safety bubble and the other sane fans like myself. :D
ITA about "hate" being thrown around too easily, as well. I think people just don't understand Misha and don't get the love he gets, which would make them not care either way but some of them obviously make huge noise over it. So, idk. People are just strange.

Yay, book meme! I will be interested to see if we have crossover here too, although we already do, because seriously- Fake!VC Andrews needs to go. Years ago.
Samurai Girl sounds awesome!

Date: 2010-08-17 07:44 pm (UTC)Hehe, I bet there will be a few. ;D Yeah, the ghostwriter just has lost all touch with the originality of VCA's writing that it keeps resetting to the same story. Never mind how predictable the stories all are, and how wooden/cardboard the main characters are created to be. It's like yeah, whatever dude. Just stop.
I think you'd like Samurai Girl. ABC Family made a miniseries out of it a year ago or so.

Date: 2010-08-17 10:43 am (UTC)It seems there are still people who don't understand that Misha's Twitter persona is not Misha. But even then I don't understand the hate. Some people might dislike his sense of humour, okay. But hate? That's such a strong word.

Date: 2010-08-17 08:02 pm (UTC)By the way, I now see why for you Castiel is the Six to Dean's Gaius. I just watched "Home" and in that very last scene I could basically hear Castiel say the exact same words to Dean. :)

Date: 2010-08-17 08:24 pm (UTC)Heeee. There's plenty more examples throughout, which you'll get to and you'll love I'm sure, but I loved that quote at the end of "Home" since it's exactly the kind of phrase Castiel would say to Dean. The parallels is just so uncanny, I swear.

Date: 2010-08-18 05:59 pm (UTC)lol, oh Lord your parents. They do realize that his show airs on Comedy Central at least? The fact that it's a political satire and he parodies conservatives and actually makes fun of their stupidity rather than support it? You'd think they would put two and two together, but alas, thus further demonstrates the stupidity of some Americans who will believe anything. No offense, since they are your parents, but seriously now. That just makes me facepalm and laugh so hard.
*hugs you* Welcome back to teh ELJAY, bb!
