It feels like with everything fandom is kind of in a standstill of ranting/depression/uncertainty about things, never mind the wankings that have recently popped up. So let's have something to cheer us all up, eh?

~ MISHA! ~

I'm kind of thinking during the hiatus I might do a Misha Collins spamming day, but only on like Thursdays, since he is the Angel of Thursday and all of that. Just like random pictures or videos or whatever of anything Misha every Thursday between now and whenever the show returns, simply to give everyone their Misha fix because you know we'll be deprived from seeing his pretty, pretty face on our television screens weekly. What do you all think?

Fandom is pretty awesome: we have [livejournal.com profile] castielfest and also I can't wait to see the results from the [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang, since there are very talented people in fandom and I just know that things will explode creatively during this hiatus.

For Legend of the Seeker fans, with the finale this weekend and the devastation of it being canceled, THIS PICTURE MAKES ME GO A-SQUEE VERY VERY HARD. \O/\O/ ADORABLE OTP IS ALL ADORABLE AND SMILEY AND D'AWWW. ♥ ♥ ♥

Also, I don't mean to harshen your squee but I've been pondering on this and I really want your opinion. I know fandom at large seems to assume that Dean is either gonna leave Lisa or something happens to her. I say what if neither happens? What if they keep him all family man? I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Sera do that. I know fandom keep interpreting it as Lisa representing an ideal fantasy family life for Dean that would never actually work and that's how I've always seen it. I'm just not so sure that Show sees it that way. They keep bringing her up and bringing her back and I'm just not sure anymore. That is so much DNW, I can't even comprehend it.

I wouldn't be surprised either if Sera decided to not listen to the fans and their concerns with that, just by plugging her ears and play whatever she wants to and go that route and forget everything about his character, which if that happens I'll be so enraged like whoa.

Though honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't read anything about what is going to occur in the sixth season so I don't know if Kripke is still involved with the decision-making of his show, and quite frankly judging from the majority of fans not up with having Lisa spontaneously appearing out of random just to play into the notion about Dean being a "family man", I think they'd reconsider playing it up like that, if they thought that would work out. Which I don't think it will, because that would mean having Lisa and Ben in the crossfire and there's still danger out there. Dean's for the hunting life, not settling down with anyone, and he wouldn't want to put them in that kind of life-or-death situation again and repeating what happened with his own family.

I'm still so muddled with my own thoughts about this (which is why I haven't responded to your comments in my previous posts) I'm kind of in a standstill on the issue myself.

I was actually surprised to see people in the speculation post over at [community profile] ontd_spnparty speculating that not only will they be together but that if we get a time jump, they'll have a kid together. And they are okay with that. I mean it was only a handful of people but I was all BUZZAH!?! And then some people are speculating that Lisa will die but Ben will live and Dean will raise him as a hunter and there is so much wrong with that scenario. After everything Dean went through in his childhood raising a kid as a hunter? I could never swallow that down.

I wish I had even a smidgen of trust left in the writers. I don't even trust Kripke anymore after that finale. Here is what I've heard about Kripke: "Creator Eric Kripke is stepping into a consultant’s role, and Gamble is moving into Kripke’s seat as showrunner." I'm thinking maybe his role will be like JJ Abrahms became with Lost, which I would hope for more involvement than that please. Y'know what a spoilerphobe I am about everything. Right now, I would sell my soul for some spoilers of a basic guideline of the start of S6.

I swear, I'm driving myself crazy bb. I let myself get too caught up in some of the characters this season. It was carthartic reading people's post episode posts and thoughts yesterday. I'll get to where my rage and annoyance has dissipated and then I'll read something or think of something or see another post about someone leaving fandom and it comes back. I'm gonna need a week to stop being a stupid fangirl about this whole thing. Thanks for putting up with me, bb. You're like my resident SPN therapist. *huggles*

Eh, some people are happy with that prospect, I wouldn't mind having the general idea of him settling down somewhere down the line if they didn't randomly interject Lisa as someone who Dean randomly boinked and wanted to randomly boink again, and now suddenly he's all acting like he wants to be a family man towards her just because she has a kid that possibly could be his. I mean, that's just not Dean. Not that I don't see him doing something like that, but after everything, especially now just losing his brother, he needs his space. He needs time to grow before he's ready for that life, if he'll ever get that life.

And don't get me wrong, I do want Dean to be happy but, honestly? He's only going to Lisa and Ben because it was honoring his brother's wishes. And [livejournal.com profile] thandie made an interesting point regarding the line that Castiel said to him, about whether having peace or having freedom? Well, Dean being with Lisa isn't his choice, that was Sam's decision for him. And we know Dean, he likes Ben and cares for Lisa well enough, but settling down just isn't his kind of life. He's not used to it, he's more for being on the road in his Impala rather than a "normal apple pie life". And it's also kind of unfair towards Lisa and Ben because he'll just be this guy coming in and out of their lives so randomly, like years in between or so, which very much resembles the entire John and Adam thing doesn't it? So no, I'd rather that not be the case at all.

I still don't like Gamble taking over. I don't understand why Kripke even stepped down at all, like seriously. I mean sure, he'll still be involved but this is his show, shouldn't he take control all the way until the end (unless he hated the idea of S6 and doesn't want to take credit for it going downhill? but even then why would he agree if he hated it? idk)

I think within a week or so, once all this hoopla has calmed down and we've had time to mull everything over, that we can actually really just sit down and try to understand what the hell was going on with this show right now. Because all I can do is just start to, but then my brain overheats with all these thoughts and I can't. I need to step back a bit.

Thanks for putting up with me, bb. You're like my resident SPN therapist. *huggles*

Awww, same to you bb. I think we kind of keep each other sane, which is good. Especially in this fandom. *hugs back*

One other thing that has been bothering me. To me Dean was always more into Ben than into Lisa. But the first reappearance Ben wasn't there and then this time all we see is the back of his head. Could they not get the actor back or something? The whole non-appearance of him really bugged for me.

They probably couldn't get the child actor back, which is unfortunate because I wholly believe he's the reason Dean thinks of returning. He's more connected to the kid than to Lisa. And I really liked Ben, I'd prefer seeing him with Dean than with Lisa, tbh.

And perhaps this is just me overanalyzing because I do want Dean to be happy and all, but to me Lisa kind of represents a sort of surrogate mother figure, don'tcha think? That's what he's always pictured having if he didn't have the life he lived, that picturesque family unit, which is what Lisa and Ben represent to him. Lisa is the mother figure for him, kind of what his mother was like. I don't know, perhaps I'm reaching far too much into this.
