My heart broke to lose both Mellie & Boyd, though neither death was a big surprise, considering everything that happened.

But I love Joss for giving me a few more Mellie/Paul moments and for allowing Paul to channel Helo and accept that dolls have feelings and...SO frakking awesome! And Joss didn't make Paul kill her but had her love for Paul fight through her programming and she chose to end her own life so she wouldn't hurt the man she loved. Just...*sobbing*...This is why I both love/loathe Joss sometimes:)

But he gained a lot of points by giving us Topher!Victor one more time! *squishes his adorableness*

I just hope Joss breaks his own trend and actually allows both Tony/Priya to survive the series as a couple. Like, neither one dies or turns evil or gets wiped and they get to stay together. I doubt that'll happen but I'm still crossing my fingers:)

And Amy did rock that suit, didn't she?! Miracle looked pretty awesome in her ensemble, as well.

I was preparing for anything to happen honestly, steeling myself for whatever horrible things might come next. Because Joss is a magnificent bastard like that, and after the last episode I was preparing for more brutal stuff. I was glad that we have not only Mellie understand that she was programmed but also Paul to understand that it doesn't matter, and that was really sweet.

Just aww, I wished we had more Mellie kicking ass without being triggered, that would have been even more awesome.

I really do want Tony/Priya to survive, I really really do. They are the sweetest couple and even in a fucked up future they should be together. DON'T MAKE ME STALK YOU JOSS TO GET A CUTE COUPLE AS THEY ARE RIGHT, YOU HEAR ME?!

Everyone just really awesome this episode.

I was like "omg Paul, Topher took your connection~ to Echo, not your IQ!" Boy can sure be slow sometimes. (was I the only one who geeked about how Helo and Paul both got shot in the same leg around the series finale)

Amy was SO AWESOME. And in a suit no less. The girlfight was badass (and may actually beat Six/Starbuck in my books omg what is happening)

Dude, I totally didn't catch him getting shot in the same leg as in the BSG finale! I don't know if that's coincidental or intentionally drawn from it (but knowing Joss, probably intentional). Boy is definitely a bit slow, but to be fair he didn't know about Boyd and he's the last of them to find this out. So, heh.

Gotta love the girlfights. ♥ That's the thing I appreciate about Joss shows, when they're fights they look like actual fights in these kinds of action sequences. And idk, maybe there could be a competition between Kara vs Six and Echo vs Whiskey!Clyde 2.0 to determine this. ;)

ENVER IS SO AWESOME AND AMAZING AND I JUST LOVE HIM! :D So happy that we got a chance to see Topher 2.0 once again before the show ended, I think out of all the different personalities he's got to do that is my favorite one. And I loved him and Priya interacting like that, it was too cute.

I thought that Caprica is on the 22nd? Did Syfy move it to avoid the telethon as well? Also I think Caprica is at 9pm while Dollhouse is on at 8pm (at least where I'm at on the East Coast) so they don't conflict on the 29th do they?

I loved this episode to no end and I'll admit I teared up at the end when Boyd went kaboom.

Gotta give it up for Joss and his blatant fanboy referencing in his shows. The callbacks to not only his previous works but to other things he admires, most pointedly BSG which I'm sure Tahmoh got a kick out of reading the scripts, lol.

I'm going to be so sad when this show ends, because damn it's gotten so good. So damn good and I want to know more! I want to have more exploration of things that we could have gotten more backstory with, but alas FOX are douchenozzles. At least they've aired the episodes despite it, right?

How has Epitaph Two not leaked yet? The whole Whedonverse is aflurry with Whedonites clamoring for more!more!more! A cunning pirate would provide. It's not like tuning in to see it on FOX would be at all meaningful to FOX anyway... says the European without access to American TV. Ahem.

But I digress. Dollhouse has been fantastic this season and it's a shame to know it's all we get. Epitaph Two had better be amazing.

ahhh let me see if I can actually formulate responses the capslocking nearly killed my eyes XD

1) I think by the time Boyd got around to explaining his motivations everyone--audience and his 'family' included--pretty much was thinking 'crazy man say crazy things'. I think in theory what he did was 'sweet' (as far as crazy meglomaniacs go) but his actual...methods were just this side of crazy evil guy with mustache in those old spy movies. It actually kind of broke my heart when they asked him why have them there and he had this little kid look of 'lost sadness' while saying 'Because you are my family'.

2) lol I was glad that Echo was Echo+1 Caroline Memories and not Caroline-1 Echo personality. Obviously Caroline wasn't a bad person, but you can't trust the zealous. Those are the sorts who believe the ends justify the means and you should blow up hundreds of people to save the potential thousand.

3) Amy Acker in the suit, Amy Acker as Clyde was pure fun and games. I loved it. I just flat out loved it. The fight was really worth it too (though I was thinking more like Faith vs. Illyria since I hate thinking of Fred as a violent person...). I gotta give Whedon props--his girl on girl fights are never 'fanservice' fights they are knock'em out bloody fisticuffs.

4) So Boyd is responsible for Bennett's death (ie: Topher's love) and Mellie's death (ie: Paul's re-emerged love), both times through other means. I was kind of upset that Paul could get over Mellie being a real person, but he couldn't have gotten over that shit when Echo was living with him. I mean I never liked Mellie, actually I never liked that actress to begin with she just was so...cloying, but if Paul hadn't been imprinted by his own self, would he still feel that way do you think?

Also that answers the question as to what Tony and Priya were talking about in Epitaph One in regards to 'what happened to November'.

5) Way to go Topher for thinking of something that Boyd didn't think of. I mean it. His Topher 2.0 was a stroke of real genius and may have impressed Boyd even.

6) I love it when Boyd is explaining that they are his family, but Paul is that relative you can do without. His expression of 'What did you people see in him?' was priceless. It hurt when you saw him as a Doll and he happily went and killed himself because he trusted Echo. I know they couldn't keep him around, but it was still rather painful. I felt so bad for Echo.

7) I would have liked to see more struggle between Caroline and Echo's personalities--obviously I wanted Echo to win, but she went nuts then came back from it and that was that.

8) mwaha I can see the announcer now: 'So you blew up Rossum--but the world ends anyway! Got'cha!' I'm looking forward to Epitaph Two, though I WANT TO SEE ALPHA GIVE ME ALPHA I WANT ALPHA AND DOMINIC AND I WANT THEM NOW PLEASE. And that jerk from Epitaph One.

9) you know if they were smart they'd show Epitaph One at 8pm and Epitaph Two at 9pm, but ah well. They're airing it at 8pm so guess not.

1. Yes, there was something so heartfelt about that line and he truly believed that what he was doing was for the good, making this a created family for himself. Which makes me wonder why, all these charades and everything, what exactly did he think would happen? There are so many unanswered questions to this, but yeah in the end it's definitely "crazy man talking crazy talk". I just wish the show had been expanded longer (or dealt with properly in the beginning) for us to understand more.

2. Pretty much. Caroline was never an evil person, her natural instinct is to help others (her core, which is what Echo built herself from). But she got more and more obsessed and colder and distant that she didn't care but her main objective: take out Rossum by any means necessary.

3. Agreed. His fights are always more brutal, bloody and never something to take lightly.

4. That's an interesting question. I'm not quite sure, to be honest, because here I'm thinking that it's because of being imprinted and realizing it that he understands how they all feel. Even if it's just his own personality. My thing is that he was more worried about Echo and the other personalities because that would just be weird for him, whereas with Mellie she was just one personality and although he felt horrible in the beginning because he understood she was a doll, he can finally accept it? It's strange, since I feel bad for Echo because everything she and Paul shared was stripped from him, but I also am glad that he accepted it with Mellie, even though she died. Which I've always liked Mellie, I just never liked Paul/Mellie together at first because of that boundary. Now? It's very sweet.

But I'm wondering about what they mean of when they said "which one?" in regards to what happened to November.

5. Definitely smart thinking, and I love that he kinda figured that Victor and Sierra would return to the house. Things would have gone much differently if they hadn't, or if someone else had gotten to the chair first. It was a risky, but genius, move on Topher's part how he could plan ahead like that. But it's sad that he felt confident to reveal this to Boyd, his "Man Friend", even though we, the audience, know the truth.

6. It's just painful all around, because I have no doubt that Boyd really cared for Echo, we've seen him be all fatherly towards her, even if we now know his motivations behind it were the sketchy kind. But he loved her, and she loved him, trusted him. Seeing him in that doll state with that smile on his face just broke my heart, and my heart broke for Echo because of all the people in the world she's known she trusted, turned out to be the one to truly betray her. His twisted notion about family is just, wow, and his resentment to Paul makes sense, even though they kind of worked together here and there I think he felt that Paul was getting in the way of things.

7. I know, I wanted that too because it would have been interesting to see Caroline and Echo duke it out, or how Caroline would feel about Echo becoming her own person. It would've been a great opportunity for some real awesome stuff, but sadly that didn't happen. So I wonder now though, are Echo and Caroline merged, has Caroline's memories gone into Echo or what? From "Epitaph One" it gave us the implications that we see Caroline, not Echo, and with these ten years that have passed we don't know what happened between then. Hmm, interesting.
