Okay. So, after pretty much avoiding all temptations I finally just gave into watching the new SPN promo that was released. I know, bad girl, but I needed to see all the fuss.


HOLY FRAKKING SHIT, THAT WAS THE BEST SPN-CENTRIC PROMO FOR THE NEW SEASON I HAVE SEEN! O_O

Seriously, the music creating the mood and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Definitely reminded me of the Johnny Cash "God's Gonna Cut You Down" promo they used for season two. It wasn't as spoilery as I thought it was going to be, but seeing new scenes and the extent to what they were showing, thoroughly impressed me and has gotten me pumped more than ever for the new season. Because I haven't read any furthering spoilers I don't know much about what is going to happen (and it will stay that way until said episodes air), but here are a few highlights from the promo alone that have gotten me excited.

** CASTIEL. I know that Misha has been made a series regular and will be in the majority of season five, rejoicing with plenty of hallelujahs here, but seeing new scenes with him and Dean just make me shiver. Who knew that him lighting up a match would be kinda awesome and hot? Also, CASTIEL AND DEAN TOGETHER OMG! IDK what's going on with Castiel -- which I think is something I've predicted since S4 but not knowing for sure -- but holy shit, scruffy!Castiel gets my approval. :)))

** CASTIEL SHIELDING (Dean? Chuck?) FROM SHATTERING GLASS = FTW. There's going to be an overload of Dean/Castiel scenes this season, I can already tell.

** JO!!!!! JO HARVELLE HAS RETURNED BITCHES! Thank the Lords of Kobol, seriously. I was unintentionally spoiled that Ellen was returning, but this was a huge surprise for me to see Alona Tal in this promo. I loved her way back in season two and I still love her now, and it was only a matter of time when they would pop up again. I am happy for this so the bitchy fandom can suck it.

** Someone pouring salt down Sam's throat? Sam having his foot on Dean's neck? Whoa. Talk about intensity.

** Isn't the song used for the promo a rendition of "O Death" sung by Ralph Stanley that was used in "O Brother, Where Art Thou"? Has certain similarities.

** "This is war!" Damn straight it's war. I have a feeling this is going to be even more epic than last season, just from the feel of this promo alone (also the last season too, if they're going to tie everything together with the Apocalypse and everyone's destiny). And I say: bring it on, bitches. Bring it on.


I know nothing more about the fifth season and if anyone spoils me for anything further than what I mentioned, casting wise or plot wise, you will be cut like a bitch. I am not joking. Looking at this promo was enough to get me stoked for the new season and I don't want to be ruined for anything else, just letting y'all know.

Ah, see I knew something was different about it. Which makes sense, but still awesome nonetheless. Totally fits the mood and it gave me chills.

Dude, Jo and Ellen returning makes me so happy. I actually had this notion a long time ago that they and other hunters would join in this big apocalyptic fight, and it seems (based on this promo) my wish is kinda coming true! :D

I don't count promo's as spoilers, or the episode descriptions lol. I guess it's because the promo's will be everywhere, and I have a habit of reading the episode descriptions when I'm looking through the cable guide the day it's on anyway lol.

To me, anything involving the new season before it airs is considered a spoiler. From casting the episode titles and descriptions to promos and previews. It's also to maintain control because we have like what, almost three weeks until it premieres? I'd rather not drive myself crazy over it until then, heh.

I guess my other comment was to late? lol. I'm avoiding casting spoilers(even though I did see one because it wasn't under a cut), and any plot spoilers for this season. I'm trying to avoid anything that isn't a episode promo, promo pictures, and episode description(unless it's a couple episodes ahead because then yeah, I would defeat the point of avoiding all the spoilers coming out lol).

Hehe, it's alright. This is actually the first promo I've seen for the new season so it's all new to me, but I do know there's some people on my flist who haven't seen it and don't want to see it because, like me, want to remain unspoiled before the season starts and I understand that. I just couldn't resist because, well, I was tempted by Castiel. Damn, that precious angel. ;p

Also...did you know that some people think that the S4 bloopers are spoilers? I honestly don't get that, at all.

I meant I don't see them as spoilers for myself lol. I think everyone has a different view on how spoiled they want to be. Some avoid all promo's(including the one shown right after the episode ends), and episode descriptions. Someone on my flist avoids the promo pictures, it's always safe to put everything under a lj cut with a warning so no one can get spoiled by anything lol.

Yeah, there are different levels of what one considers a spoiler than what others do, which can be very difficult and tricky especially during these times of hiatusus. I don't think it's fair to call anyone who avoids anything of a new season of something an "oversensitive spoilerphobe", which is a term someone used in a community I'm a part of, I just think despite your stances it would be considerate to place anything that would be new news from something underneath a cut as common courtesy, y'know?

Yeah, it's pretty hard on the spoiler thing. Even with books, the last HP book was leaked and some people were talking about what they read online about what happened in the book at the DH book release party. Catching an inkling of something I was like humming all loud and walking away lol. Some people don't care, they think it's fun to outright spoil people who want to be surprised by it all.

I know, when HBP came out, this guy wanted to find who died and read it all loud when he got his book. He was in one of the first groups to get the book, and the people around him shoved him out the door when he was flipping through the pages. He probably was bragging about it in line lol.

But sometimes you want to be shocked by it all instead of being like 'oh yeah, I was wondering when that was going to come up' after you read the spoilers lol.

Every time I watch or hear about this promo I get all excited again! It's a brilliant promo, not very spoilery but atmospheric and intriguing. If I'd never watched the show I think it'd get me to give it a go.

Oh totally, it's probably the best promo yet. It doesn't give too much away, but it lets us know precisely what the season is primarily going to be focused around just from the feel of it. I love it.
