++ Sadness and grief in the media and pop culture recently. Too many legends and amazing people are taken from us too soon and unexpectedly. It's surprising and shocking because we seem to think these individuals are immortal, they're legends and are supposed to live forever and ever. Then the reality hits us. From Farrah Fawcett to Michael Jackson, even actress Lorena Gale who played Elosha from BSG, these are people who brought us a lot of greatness in life and we should celebrate their achievements and how they shaped our culture and society. I know many people have certain opinions about certain celebrities, but to place that aside and really focus on the influences they had in our lives and culture is what matters now. Let us not speak or think ill of the dead, and also let us not exaggerate what should be left alone and in peace (looking at you, media people!)

++ In the middle of my fandom rewatching I decided to just dive right in and rewatch Veronica Mars which also includes, yes, season three which I avoided for the longest time because I fell out of that show. And you know what? It really isn't that bad. While Rob Thomas has some issues with his repeated rape/sexual assault plots throughout the show, it isn't to say he didn't have something of a plan for his characters one way or another. But it all takes me back to these characters, and how much Veronica rocked hardcore, the awesomeness of Mac, the love for Weevil, and how much I disliked Logan. Ah, memories.

Which, are they continuing with the idea of a Veronica movie or was that just talk? Because honestly, after the mess that happened with Elle's storyline in Heroes I kinda want Kristen Bell to return to having good characterization written for her.

++ There are two new shows that I've been thinking about watching: Glee and Virtuality, the latter which premiered last night on FOX and was written/created by Ron D. Moore. I saw a clip and was intrigued, read the description for the show got even more intrigued. Now it's hunting down the download time!

Yeah, she was battling abdominal cancer (http://www.straight.com/article-237335/canadian-actor-lorena-gale-dies-cancer-vancouver). :((((

I saw Virtuality last night. It was good, but rated for parental discretion for a reason. Very "this is a series pilot" ending.

Yeah, no kidding. Just finished watching it and it certainly was good and has promise for a story here, but a lot of heavy issues that I'm not certain if FOX can handle such an intensity, y'know?

I have to admit, I didn't like Pike's closing line.

It was very cryptic. I had to rewatch that last bit to catch what he said, it was supposed to be ominous but instead left me going "huh?" But the show has intrigued me enough that I can forgive that bit, because I'm interested in these characters and how they'll continue on after all that's happened to them and what this supposed "glitch" is.

And I'm feeling Billie's story, definitely.

It sounded corny and pretentious to me.

That green-eyed man needs to be deleted. I wonder if it's naturally evolved or inserted by some human or alien intelligence, if it's connected to the airlock glitch, and what the connection is to the happy feel good visions Pike and the doctor had.

You have no idea how hard I grinned when I saw your subject line! And I'm glad you're finding season 3 not that bad, hee. Your character assessment are so spot on ♥ Oh and re: the movie, it's pretty much off the table right now. I forget all of the reasons, I think the recession has a part in it IIRC, but don't think it's happening any time soon.

Glee is fantastic. If they reair the premiere on the 16th (which is when it's supposed to start for real and it'd make sense for them to reair it as it will have been a good four months since it was last on the airwaves), then I won't get a new episode before I go to NZ which makes me a little less Glee-ful, heh.

I still have issues with Rob Thomas and his recurring of rape as part of a season plot, but watching the seasons again I have rekindled why I loved this show back when it began.

I did hear some time ago that they had to place it on hold, but I also heard it's not completely impossible for it to happen in the near future (hopefully once the recession has been dealt with). It would be kind of awesome to have the return of Veronica Mars in movie format.

I still have to download Glee, but from what I've been hearing it's a cute show. And amongst my intense/dark shows, I need some cuteness. ;)

I think before I didn't feel VMars after the S2 finale, and while the season was okay I just wasn't feeling it, and I heard a range of opinions about season three in general so. But now watching it, I've decided it wasn't all that bad.

And, is it weird that I found Veronica in S3 a bit more likeable than in S2? It's just the manner of the writing and dialogue, I think, which flows a bit better instead of being forced like how it felt in S2 which kind of turned me off a bit towards her character.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I guess perhaps since I just watched season three now that I didn't have much of the fandom influence at that time. Or that since I've just rekindled my love for the show and for her character I kinda love her no matter what, even if I found her characterization a bit blah in S2.

Eh, I'm one of those that had the love/hate thing with Buffy in the later seasons. I just didn't like her behavior and attitude towards situations, and even certain characters, which did piss me off and made her a bit intolerable in my eyes for a while. But she redeemed herself in the series finale so it was all good.

watch Glee!! I love it! I think it's going to be a good show I could already sense some drama and there's only 1 episode out lol. I like the music they choose in the show, too

Yeah, even people that you consider to be immortal and never die. So many great individuals have passed away already, and we all know the superstition of celebrity deaths coming in threes. :(

Well, the third season ended kind of on a cliffhanger because it wasn't picked up for another season, so there are unanswered questions and fans wanting more. There was supposed to be a pitch for a Veronica Mars FBI series, but that was thankfully turned down, and there was a pitch for a movie but that's been going nowhere at the moment. But if you'd like to continue watching the show, go right ahead!

OMG GIRL GLEE IS AMAZING! IT'S HILARIOUS AND CORKY BUT ALSO CUTE AND FUN AND OMG! It has this Pushing Daisies mixed with Popular mixed with High School Musical feel and it's just wonderful to watch! And the singing and the cast! I DEFINITELY recommend watching it. :DDDD

It leaked some while ago and it aired a "pre-premiere" on FOX just before summer hiatus began, to give us a taste of what's to come (before it premieres again in the fall, simple promotion strategy). So basically, almost everyone's already seen it by now and craving for more. Me included. YOU BETTER GET ON THE BANDWAGON TOO! :D

Watch this clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLuWKEOUnlE), it's amazing. ♥

Me too. :( At least she got to reprise her role as Elosha in BSG in the final season. That was a pleasant surprise.
