Until you know where you've been.
Jun. 23rd, 2009 01:29 pmExpanding my meta-reading I had recently picked up Terminator and Philosophy, which came out earlier this year I believe as it mentions all the films, sans T4, along with TSCC and much to my satisfaction plenty of analytical essays, some I agree with some I don't, at least in terms of how the author of some has written them, but overall an amazing read so far. I am addicted to the Pop Culture and Philosophy series, if you couldn't tell. That one adds to the pile alongside my Battlestar Galactica and Philosophy: Knowledge Here Begins Out There, and I'm thinking about getting the other BSG philosophy book titled Mission Accomplished or Mission Frakked? I don't care which edition came out first, the more essays to compare and contrast the better I say.
That and I'm really looking for new reading material this summer. Heh.
And it appears that Bryan Fuller is going to be leaving Heroes, again. Wish I could say I'm surprised. But I'm not. Quite frankly judging from the lackluster in everything that show has been lately, my best bet is that this next season will probably be its last. Because really, what creative direction, if any, are they going in and do they even have a plan anymore?
I'm...also kind of really anticipating Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince to finally come out, after much of the prolonged postponement. Anyone else with me?

Date: 2009-06-23 09:51 pm (UTC)But yeah. I don't see the show going anyway passed this next one, tbh.

Date: 2009-06-24 12:57 am (UTC)I think so to, unless they stop doing random storylines and messing up past storylines, I don't think it's going to last much longer.
I can't wait for HBP to come out, and here I thought that OoTp was going to be the last HP movie I was going to see because they messed it up so much. But HBP looks so good I want to see it lol.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:11 am (UTC)Really? I rather liked how they handled OOTP. I mean, they can't make it perfect just like in the books, and I thought they did a wonderful job. Judging from the looks of HBP it's going to be one hell of a movie! :D

Date: 2009-06-24 02:39 am (UTC)Of course the final movie will be split in two, now THAT'S something you need to go see no matter what.

Date: 2009-06-24 03:31 pm (UTC)I know, where are they going to split it for the second part? It should be interesting lol.

Date: 2009-06-24 03:56 pm (UTC)It will be a "to be continued" like for our fandom hiatuses, probably. At the worst moment too so they can torture us some more. XD

Date: 2009-06-24 04:00 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm interested in seeing if they can pull this two-parter movie thing off lol.

Date: 2009-06-24 05:08 pm (UTC)Has there ever been a two-parter movie before, and how will it be shown like some months in between each other or something? Will the second part of called "Deathly Hollows, Part 2"? That would be very interesting.

Date: 2009-06-24 07:14 pm (UTC)Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a movie that was split into two parts. The closest would be a mini-series. I think they're going to be shown a year apart or something, it should be interesting lol.

Date: 2009-06-24 10:19 pm (UTC)I think the only closest thing I've come to having a movie split is only via video/DVDs when the movie goes on too long for normal length or whatever, but even with that I can't vouch on how it would be like in the actual theaters of course.
That means it will prolong the series even longer! Somehow this amuses me.

Date: 2009-06-24 11:36 pm (UTC)I wonder what they're going to call it. It'll probably be DH part one and two lol.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:20 am (UTC)Maybe I should look at these philosophy books. There's a ton of Buffy Studies I'm aware of.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:36 am (UTC)You should, I think they're highly informative and gives readers a chance to sit and think about things from their movies/shows/books that they never thought about before. I mean, I have the Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy and it's really very interesting. And there ARE a lot of Buffy kinds of philosophy studies and essays out there, aren't there? I think that's kinda awesome.

Date: 2009-06-24 08:52 am (UTC)As for HBP... I want to be excited but I can't. I'm almost anticipating the fandom_wank posts a little more. Can't wait to hear the fan entitlement.

Date: 2009-06-24 10:13 am (UTC)Ah yes, fan entitlement is always amusing, particularly in the HP fandom. I just realized it's been a while since some good HP wank has emerged, it's been overshadowed with the Twilight madness. Heh.
