The beginning of a new era.

I am fully and completely prepared for Barack Obama's inauguration tomorrow morning. Finally the beginning of a new era, the beginning of change, where history will be made as he will be sworn into office as the 44th President of the United States It still feels so surreal, and even after watching the programs like the Yes We Can! which overview his life, his dedications and passions to the elections, I can't help but get emotional. It's going to be a proud day for America, and how appropriate for it to follow yet another historical day that was today of the remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. I'll be watching it tomorrow, as I'm sure many others will too.

My only fears are assassination attempts, since there was one planned out on him during the elections, though was thankfully prevented. However if there's anything to learn from history is that those that want change in this country are often targeted than those who aren't, and even while it's obvious people in this country want change there will be those individuals and groups that do not. So I'm praying nothing like that happens.

I said I wasn't one for prediction of the new year ahead, though with the inauguration, the returning of fandoms and my own personal life going well and steady at the moment, it appears that 2009 is starting off pretty darn well. And I'm grateful for this start, I truly am.

I'm still on a high from Battlestar Galactica, and even after posting my review/meta I'm conducting my theories as of this moment. OMG THIS SHOW DOES SOMETHING TO ME, I CAN'T HELP IT.

Well that's awesome. :) I think everyone in this country needs to place their indifferences and opinions about all things politically and just take the moment and realize this is history in the making, and while change isn't necessarily going to automatically happen we have entered the new era where it is possible to have hope and faith that those changes will be accomplished in due course.
