Life has taken hold of me, and it's almost surreal that come around May/June I'll be graduating. It's insane.

I actually have been seriously contemplating participating in the [livejournal.com profile] sncross_bigbang. I haven't signed up yet but I'm seriously considering the challenge, granted if I do my calculations right between now and the deadline for how my schedule is going to be like. I've never done one of these before, let alone posting an actual full-length story online, and judging by my schedule it may be kinda tight. But everyone knows me and my cracky ideas for crossovers so, perhaps I may be up for that challenge. Yes, I'm debating on whether I should or should not; and if I don't actually end up doing this particular challenge I still have my ideas and may still write them out regardless.

In the midst of getting into new fandoms (Leverage, and even Big Bang Theory, both which are fun and hilarious), I've been rewatching my Carnivale DVDs at least an episode or two a day. Holy shit, I'd forgotten how much this show is just absolute genius. It makes me sad there's only two seasons, but I love the religious themes and mythology mixed with it. Anything that involves those things with a solid plot for storytelling is bound to get me interested.

Normally I'm not one for spoilers, especially when fandom likes to overreact to the huge ones, but this particular interview regarding our favorite angel of the Lord makes me giddy with excitement for what's to come. I've never held a strong opinion about Sera Gamble, but at least she's voicing her thoughts that I can agree with on certain topics.

Speaking of, can y'all believe that SPN returns THIS THURSDAY and BSG THIS FRIDAY?! Holy frakking shit, I'm gonna have a fangasm between those two days, and long afterwards.

Alrighty. Back to finishing homework and studying.

I always enjoy reading Sera's interviews, I tend to agree with her on quite a few topics. I am just thrilled that she has so much respect for the angels and thinks Castiel is a good and important to SPN. What made me almost as happy is that it looks like Ruby will become relevant to the plot again, which I really wished they started earlier in the season.

I am six episodes away from finishing BSG 4.0, and it is so awesome, so good. I am seeing Angel/Cylon parallels all over the place. Can you imagine if Tricia Helfer played Anna instead, or any of the actresses from BSG? Gah, that would of been epic.

Exactly. I haven't been into the spoiler realm in the SPN fandom for obvious reasons, but I have been quite anxious over what's to come and reading that interview relieves that anxiety a bit. I like hearing the opinions of the writers on the show, and Sera's comments and appreciation for the angels and the mytharc of the season makes me happy. I also agree, I'm glad to see that Ruby is finally going to get worthwhile material, since they've seriously been lacking that kind of potential with her character.

Oh good, another person who sees the Angel/Cylon parallels! ;D Seriously, it's so obviously there that I can't help but make those connections. This is why I'm kind of hoping for something in regards to lines being drawn in Heaven between the angels, like I mentioned before with possibly Anna creating a mutiny of some sort. I don't know, but it would be appropriate to raise those stakes in the angelical order, taking into account Misha's speculations that Heaven isn't a smooth-running operation as we would like to believe. Because the similarities between the angels and Cylons are too good to not have something like that happen, at least in my opinion.

Any BSG actress would've totes fitted better in that role than Julie, no doubt about it. Though I still maintain my Six/Castiel pairing, because how can one resist? ;)

If Tricia played Anna, I would be shipping Dean/Anna/Castiel. I am intrigued that heaven isn't as perfect as it seems, but I still hope they maintain a balance, because I can't buy Heaven being as bad as hell. Not perfect yes, but ruled by dictators that kill their own for feeling, hell no. Actually that can't be, because Uriel is constantly expressing his feelings about mud-monkeys and he hasn't got in trouble for that so I am not too worried. If it were all up to Kripke I would, because I swear at times he wants to turn the boys into Mary Sue's but it isn't solely up to him thankfully.

ITA. It'll be interesting to see how all that unravels if Kripke manages on doing so, and I suspect we'll be learning through Castiel as he's going through his own personal conflicts. I doubt there are dictatorships ordering those kinds of things by themselves, but there's definitely an order in which the celestial hierarchy is being run, whether or not these orders do come from God or it's a test of their faith on their parts, either way and I would like to explore further in that and that there will be a balance in everything.

I love the boys much as anyone, but to have them be the Two Most Awesomest People in that universe is plain stupid. I'm grateful for part of his team who express their thoughts and concerns about the direction of the show, and give their input.
