Why'd y'all order a dead guy for?
Jan. 11th, 2009 06:52 pmLife has taken hold of me, and it's almost surreal that come around May/June I'll be graduating. It's insane.
I actually have been seriously contemplating participating in the
sncross_bigbang. I haven't signed up yet but I'm seriously considering the challenge, granted if I do my calculations right between now and the deadline for how my schedule is going to be like. I've never done one of these before, let alone posting an actual full-length story online, and judging by my schedule it may be kinda tight. But everyone knows me and my cracky ideas for crossovers so, perhaps I may be up for that challenge. Yes, I'm debating on whether I should or should not; and if I don't actually end up doing this particular challenge I still have my ideas and may still write them out regardless.
In the midst of getting into new fandoms (Leverage, and even Big Bang Theory, both which are fun and hilarious), I've been rewatching my Carnivale DVDs at least an episode or two a day. Holy shit, I'd forgotten how much this show is just absolute genius. It makes me sad there's only two seasons, but I love the religious themes and mythology mixed with it. Anything that involves those things with a solid plot for storytelling is bound to get me interested.
Normally I'm not one for spoilers, especially when fandom likes to overreact to the huge ones, but this particular interview regarding our favorite angel of the Lord makes me giddy with excitement for what's to come. I've never held a strong opinion about Sera Gamble, but at least she's voicing her thoughts that I can agree with on certain topics.
Speaking of, can y'all believe that SPN returns THIS THURSDAY and BSG THIS FRIDAY?! Holy frakking shit, I'm gonna have a fangasm between those two days, and long afterwards.
Alrighty. Back to finishing homework and studying.

Date: 2009-01-12 04:23 am (UTC)Carnivale is such an amazing show. I feel it's what SPN's S4 would be like had it been on a network like HBO or Showtime. Lots of dark stuff regarding Good vs. Evil, the Apocalypse and heavily religious overtones, gah. So good. This is one of the options I have for a SPN crossover, actually, alongside TSCC and perhaps BSG again. IDK. This is my dilemma for crossover challenges -- I wanna do them but, dammit, so many ideas! Haha. But yes, Carnivale is just pure epic. You should watch it when you get the chance to.
I love that Castiel has won the hearts of many fans. I mean ever since his first appearance he's been making headlines, and seriously hearing about how much he's being praised in interviews, and the fact that he'll be featured more this season and perhaps as a regular for S5, I'm more that overjoyed. Castiel is such a lovely addition and brings a lot to the show, even with scenes where he has no lines at all. He's just so...expressive, and amazing and just so much love. I can't wait for what they have in store for him, and I really do appreciate Sera Gamble's comments about him.
OMG I THINK I MIGHT S'PLODE FROM FANDOM COMEBACKS, OMG.

Date: 2009-01-12 05:02 am (UTC)I know, and I have no worries about them overusing his character as some tend to be. So far they've been careful with using him for plot-driven scenes, and I'd love for them to explore his character further. Find out what his true orders have been, him going through the motions just trying to understand humans and dealing with the war and his own conflictions and self-discovery and just, omg. Yes, more Castiel is definitely a plus in my book. :D
HAHA! XD XD It's gonna be hectic keeping up with everything, in the middle of squeeing and flailing.
