FOX renews The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a second season. HELL to the YEAH, bitches!

I'm not even going to get into what's been happening in the latest wank that has arisen amongst bloggers, which I assume many have read or heard about by now. But I will say this: I believe that our society should allow people to embrace and not be ashamed of sexuality, that we shouldn't be raised into thinking that our bodies are shameful and that sex is a disgusting act, or even artful nudity should be something we avert our eyes from. Sexual assault/harassment, however, should never permitted nor should it ever be glorified as something to enhance sexual desires for whatever purpose or reason. This is why that action has and will always be unaccepted in society because it is ethically and morally wrong and there is no justifications for it. End of story.

Onward to less upsetting news, last night I watched The Blair Witch Project.

Okay, I know it's not the greatest movie and it's obviously fake and lame or whatever, but I can't help but love it. When it came out I was fooled like everyone else that it was an actual documentary, until it was confirmed it wasn't. Looking back, that was a real creative way of marketing to get people to talk about it and go see it. I actually like these kinds of horrors because while you didn't see anything other than the sounds, it's basically the psychological aspect that creeps you the fuck out afterwards. We fear what we can't see, which is why many people are afraid of the dark because, while in reality we know nothing is there, we can't see our surroundings and our minds start playing tricks on us. It's all built up on the fear within us, and that's what I loved about TBWP and they did a stellar job at creating that atmosphere, even if it wasn't typical scary for those who like gruesome/gorey kinds of horror films. Pssh, whatev, psychological thrillers rule dudes. C'mon!

And of course, because I am such a horror junkie I had to watch it at night and much like SPN I have to turn off all the lights to do so, and afterwards I double-check the locks on the doors and windows. Yeah, that's me.

Speaking of which, new SPN TOMORROW! It's been like what, eight weeks since "Jus In Bello" aired or something like that? You'd think I'd be going through withdrawals by now but I haven't been, which is surprising. But that's because I have other fandoms to squee over, and that squeeing continues because tomorrow we get our boys back! Yay!

Also, could there be more Natalie icons in the BSG fandom, please? She's kickass and I'm surprised that nobody has any decent ones other than the new one I have. Which, GIP!

oh SPN!!! i can't wait! :)

Lol I'm working on BSG icons at the moment, and i'm having the same problems with Anders!! i've done a ton of BSG icons right now, and i'm hoping to just do heaps. BSG is seriously under represented in the icon ranks!

They really are! Don't get me wrong, there are many great BSG iconmakers, though with new episodes you'd think there'd be more by now in the fandom. Or perhaps I'm not looking in the right places, IDK.

HAHAHA I AM SUCH A WUSS. I'm way too scared to watch The Blair Witch Project. I would be freaking out over tomorrow night's SPN if I didn't know it was going to be humorous as well.

Even if people say it isn't scary it still kind of freaks me out at certain points, especially near the end when all shit hits the fan and it's all chaotic and you don't know what the hell is going on. I wouldn't recommend it for those who get scared easily, but it's great for the creepy-mystery factor and get you spooked. :)

Yeah, I think SPN wins over those who aren't fans of horror stuff because of the humor that goes into it. That and the boys. But I guess I must be one of the minorities out there that got into SPN BECAUSE of the horror appeal. IDK.

I don't watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but I'm super happy for you and others that the show is getting another season. Yay. :D

I liked The Blair Witch Project. I remember watching it a long while ago on Halloween night with the lights off and being seriously freaked. That ending, where you just see him in the corner and the camera cuts away? Spooky! It is all about the surroundings and our minds filling things in with terrifying conclusions. You are right about the atmosphere. That was so much more important than what we were actually shown. It was pretty good stuff.

YAY SPN! ♥

I am so excited for TSCC, and since FOX is very sketchy on keeping shows that we actually like on their network, this is a good thing. Plus, Dollhouse started filming today! *squees*

I just half expected to see something flickering when Heather's camera drops to the ground in the end, because the film kept going and going. It's more about the suspense than anything, and that's how I like my horror. Grossouts and gruesome images is not what a horror films makes, it's the feel and suspenseful atmosphere and I prefer vagueness to seeing the face of fear. Our fears are hidden and yes, drawiing our own conclusions is a whole lot scarier than what is literally shown. I need to get the DVD so I can watch the commentary, I heard that there's some neat tidbits on how they shot and did it all.

I CAN'T WANT, I WANTS MAH WINCHESTERS! :D

I'm with you! I thought the blair witch project was real when it came out, and then I saw them at some awards show and thought, "wait, you guys all died...?"

YES, EXACTLY! Of course, that gets people thinking "are they like, ghosts or something? Like, WTF IS GOING ON?!?!" XD

But it's kind of awesome the way they set it up. Now, whether you love it or hate it, it's become such a cult favorite that you cannot do anything without referencing it in something. Like Snakes on a Plane.

TSCC is just amazing; it took the pilot to get me hooked immediately, and it gets better with each episode. If they hadn't picked it up I would've been so pissed, but it's been renewed so I'm squeeing with joy. :D

This final season of BSG is really kicking ass, isn't it? Very dark and very awesome. I loved the Six's already, but Natalie is another new Six that has won over my love immediately. Then again it's Tricia Helfer, why wouldn't I love her? And I NEEDS MOAR ICONS OF HER! Srsly, she's made of awesome and so many great scenes and shots to work with -- if only I had the program/talent of iconmaking I would be doing like, thousands of them.

Hee. Most will remember it's the movie that has jerky amateur camera motions and lots and lots of swearing. XD

CORRECTION! THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT IS THE GREATEST MOVIE! Seriously, it terrifies me. To this day, I can't face into corners. Which actually, showering, one has to do a lot. I just really cannot turn into the corner in the shower, so skldgjs I'm always rinsing off weirdly.

LMFAO OKAY NOW I'M JUST THINKING ABOUT THE END WITH HEATHER SCREAMING, "MIKE! MIKE!" OVER AND OVER AND FEELING COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT. :\

From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
I GOT FREAKED OUT WHENEVER THOSE SOUNDS/VOICES THEY HEARD AT NIGHT BECAUSE HOLY CRAP I HEAR SHIT AT NIGHT ALL THE TIME. AND THEN WHEN SHE STARTED YELLING OUT "HELLO" I WAS LIKE ALDFJL;ASKDJF!!! YOU DON'T DO THAT!! HAVEN'T YOU WATCHED ANY HORROR MOVIES???? SRSLY!!

Yeah, it's creepy and freaky because even if you don't think it is, that kind of shit really does happen. Like getting lost in the woods, your mind playing tricks on you, feeling helpless and whatnot. It's all FREAKY SHIT. :O
