I think I have a new favorite film. I just finished watching Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and I am just...blown away. I simply loved it, from the acting of the perfect casting choices, the musical score, the cinematography, the message and direction, it's so beautiful I've just fallen in love. This is unlike most revenge films, but not surprising for a Chan-wook Park production, obviously. Especially for anyone familiar with his other works, even if this one takes on a different style it is still Park, through-and-through, and I loved it very much.

I'll write a proper review of it a little later, but it's such a gorgeous film that I had to comment about it. I am enthralled.

I LOVE this film. my brother bought my the vengeance trilogy boxset recently. i absolutely love oldboy, i think its brilliant and i love lady vengeance even more. everything you've mentioned- the cinematography, the music its just all so perfect. and so unlike anything i'd ever seen before.

It truly is a beautiful film. I loved Oldboy, still have yet to see Mr. Vengeance but knowing me I'll probably enjoy it. But this film, being the last in the trilogy I was so surprised and impressed with it. I have the soundtrack and have been listening to it on repeat. So pretty.
