The Bastard!Network has done it again
Sep. 18th, 2004 12:57 pmFirstly, I want to say farewell to
_hdcomic. Thank you for the laughter, the amusement, the cuteness, and the H/D fluffiness. You will be missed. <3
The anticipated Tru Calling season premiere is being put on hold until mid-season. Seems that FOX is slowly trying to kill off the series by having another show in it's timeslot during that time, but that's not the worst of it. FOX has issued only 6 episodes of the second season instead of 13 as it was scheduled to have.
First it was Dark Angel, Firefly, Wonderfalls, and now Tru Calling is on the verge for being cancelled as well. Good quality television that is a refreshment and a breather from all the other crappy stuff that is shown, and people fail to see the potential in them because it's not entertaining or suspenseful enough.
Hopefully it won't result to being cancelled, but this is FOX we're talking about. The ultimate bastards and dinglefairies for ruining something that shined out among the not-so interesting things they show, and then buried in the bottom of the pit because of low ratings or not enough fanbase response. The show, while it started off slow in the beginning, has an interesting plot and geat characters performed by an amazing cast (and now that Mr. Priestly is on the cast, doesn't his performance shine and give the show a whole new meaning for a good-looking, and quite content, antagonist?) If FOX does cancel the show, I am writing a letter to the creators and producers responsible for Tru Calling and I am asking for a movie -- like what Joss did for Serenity, the movie that is created from his series Firefly [coming out in April] that FOX ruthlessly cancelled.
So, any Tru Calling fans out there, dedicate yourselves to keep the show on the air. Even if you think the show didn't do so well, who knows? Perhaps the second season has something more to give us. Hell, we've got Jason Priestly on there now, how could anyone not want to watch this show? Besides for Eliza, obviously. *g*
C'mon, people! I want my Tru/Jack love! The protaganist/antagonist complicated attraction to one another. We can't let the tension go now, can we?

Re: Rage against Fox

Re: Rage against Fox
Date: 2004-09-21 11:47 am (UTC)And don't even get me started on Wonderfalls. I am soooo bitter I could scream. That was a masterpiece in comedy. And it was ripped from our lives without warning or just cause.
I am going to be watching Fox with an evil eye. And the moment I hear either way......
Having said that, Alias and 24 have been bumped to January too. But they are going to go ahead with no reruns. so we will see if that is what Fox has planned for our Tru. Besides how can you get rid of Eliza???
Re: Rage against Fox
Date: 2004-09-21 06:45 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, I do not have any addresses at this very moment. However, if Tru is going to get cancelled I will most likely post up some optional network addresses for anyone to participate in saving the show or having another network to pick it up.
Wonderfalls was an excellent show, and I was doing everything in my power to keep it going on the air. Writing letters, signing petitions, getting in touch with other networks (whom, by the way, didn't reply back). I actually read somewhere that FOX judges a show by only the first episode, not the entire season. Which proves their mistakes for cancelling good shows that deserve to be on the air other than all this reality t.v. shit that really isn't even remotely entertaining at all.
Eliza is one hell of an actress that has talent, and has dedicated her soul into creating this series -- her own series that fans of hers can see how well she's grown and matured since her childhood movies and her life on Buffy.

Date: 2004-09-22 12:04 pm (UTC)Eliza is a great actress you are right. She is beautiful, talented and has proven she can do something other then the bad girl.
I too am anxious to get to the second season..... if it ever shows up.
Let me know if you do get an address with which I can harass them with.
Oh Wonderfalls!!! Let's take a moment to remember. I got an email saying they have postponed the release date till after Christmas. *sad face/pout*
Well, I am glad there are others like you out there who can keep me informed and with whom I can vent. I will keep my eyes peeled for TRU.

Well, don't harass them too violently. The networks overlook a lot of hatemail because it really doesn't do much to win back a show. I would suggest doing an essay-like letter explaining why the show should continue and all that other jazz. Be forceful in your dedication, but also keep a calm state-of-mind as well.
Just a heads up in case they reject you or don't write you back. :)
