Date: 2007-08-15 02:34 am (UTC)Claire and Niki. It was the character of Niki that originally drew me into watching the series, and after watching the pilot I knew it wouldn't disappoint. I loved Claire for the same reasons, she's too adorable! I mean c'mon, who doesn't love girls who kick ass?
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
In the beginning I didn't like Nathan, he seemed so pompous and holier-than-thou. However it was the politician within him, as further on in the series his character began to change, to question the motives and decisions placed upon his shoulders, and I began to love him more and more. Same with HRG, with his morally grey standards. Also Mohinder, despite having a back-and-forth storyline I understand why that had to happen, and really now the last several episodes were just awesome (Molly and Mohinder = uber cuteness FTW!) I would say Sylar as well, but his character likeability was a gradual buildup so, yeah.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Hmmm...I can't think of anybody right now. I mean, there are characters that I don't like but I don't think anyone else loves them (i.e. Candice).
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
Niki and Mohinder are probably less liked in the fandom I think based on the slowness of their storylines, but I love them. Same with Matt Parkman, until he teamed up with Ted and HRG (it's funny, how when some characters join others they're automatically more interesting).
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer

06. The character I would shag anytime
Sylar (or Gabriel Gray, or Zane!Sylar, whichever version I don't care), Mohinder, Peter (especially dark!Peter), and just for the fun of it Niki-as-Jessica. *glees*
07. The character I'd want to be like
Claire Bennet. She's strong, independent, caring, stubborn but sweet, and although she may be fragile and vulnerable at times she's persistent and overcomes those obstacles and carries onward with her head held high. I would never have guessed she was only 16-years-old, because Claire seems to have wisdom beyond her years, not to mention has experienced quite a hell of a lot. Claire is awesome, and if I were to become anybody it would definitely have to be her.

Angela Petrelli and Thompson. Also Candice.
09. A pairing that I love
Mohinder/Sylar, Claire/Peter, and Claire/Zach.

Peter/Simone.

Snarky, sarcastic, hardass at times but hilarious and does whatever to protect his brother and bring their family back together again.

I have to admit Sam. I mean, I liked him I just didn't love him as much as I did Dean, even though Dean is top of the list I've come to love Sam more and more now. Also Bobby, and I blame the S2 finale for that one because paternally!concerned!Bobby is just awesome.

Jo Harvelle. Being a Alona Tal fan I was excited to see her on SPN, although I get that her character didn't have solid episode story arcs I loved her every second she appeared on there. I think Jo would've been a perfect asset to the show, if only the writing and ideas hadn't let her go so quickly. And let me tell you, if they don't have her come back even for a few episodes next season, I'm gonna hafta strangle a bitch. >:O

I don't think I'd be like any one character, because they're all complex in their own ways. So I really don't know.

Sometimes there are moments where I do want to slap Sam, like in S1 where he and John were arguing between each other with Dean playing refuree.

Dean/Jo.
10. A pairing that I despise
Sam/Dean. I just can't get behind the Wincest train, I mean I know others like it and that's fine but I personally don't see it.

Date: 2007-08-15 03:05 am (UTC)Gideon, of course. He's what drew me into the show (yay for Mandy, which is sad now considering the recasting situation). Also, Garcia is so adorkable and Morgan for being sweetly adorkable with her, plus he's fine as hell. Damn!

Reid and definitely Hotchner. I think Hotchner is more on that scale because he always seems slightly offbeat and doesn't particularly smile as much, and I'm used to seeing Thomas Gibson smile A LOT from Dharma and Greg. I liked Reid though it's from his character exploration that made me love and appreciate his character more.

Hmmm, does fandom like Emily Prentiss? I don't know, I'm indifferent with her since she replaced Elle. And I liked Elle. Though I'm glad that in the show they showed the indifference between her and the other characters to really emphasis that Elle was, in fact, part of the team and she wasn't no matter how hard she tried to prove herself. Though I have been warming up to her character bit by bit.

Umm, I'm not really sure? I like JJ, but I don't think anybody hates JJ

I'm not sure there's a character I'd slap per se, though there are episodes where a character will go through something and it makes me go "OMG you idiot!" Other than that, I think the only one I wanted to slap was Prentiss when she came onto the scene.

OMG, although they aren't technically a couple Morgan/Garcia interactions are the adorablest thing EVER! Same with JJ/Garcia moments, they are like BFFs with benefits, shall we say. ;)

Date: 2007-08-15 05:07 pm (UTC)I have to admit that I feel the exact opposite about Emily & Elle. :/ By the last few episodes of her run, Elle was annoying the heck out of me. I didn't particularly care for the way they introduced Emily, but I like her well enough.

Sometimes I have trouble taking Hotchner seriously when he's being all serious, because I can't get 'Greg' out of my head. I've seen Thomas Gibson in other stuff, but I think he will always be Greg to me. :D

02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Hmmm, I'd say Cordelia and Spike. In the beginning Cordelia had yet to grow on me, but the more I watched the more I loved her. With Spike, well, it's a love-hate relationship with him really. But yeah, routing for the bad guy in the earlier seasons.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Riley? Does everyone like Riley? Because me no fond of him, nope.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
Dawn Summers. People are bugged by her, but I love her. I can identify with her on many levels, about being the youngest sibling and finding out things earlier than I should've, going through a difficult and struggling adolescence. Plus she's strong, and matured and faced some demons (literal and metaphorical). I just like her.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
Umm, I think Buffy is in that category and basically in the later seasons she turned into a bitch in my eyes. I mean, I can understand why but there are times when I wanted to bitchslap her ass and make her see what's in front of her. Again, there's the Spike issue. I loved him in the beginning of the series when he was badass, even when he was badass while civil towards Buffy and company, however once they made him fluffy!emo and "I has soul nowz, woe-is-me" I kind of lost interest in that regard to his character. Badass Spike all the way.
06. The character I would shag anytime
Faith, without a doubt.
07. The character I'd want to be like
It's gonna be a mixture here: a little bit of Faith, a little bit of Dawn. The smarts, the badass attitude and kickass feminine wiles, not to mention superhuman strength...there you go. :)
08. The character I'd slap
Riley. Spike (later seasons). Buffy (later seasons). Willow (for getting involved with Kennedy, and resurrecting Buffy when it wasn't her right to play God).
09. A pairing that I love
Faith/Buffy, Buffy/Angel, Willow/Oz, Willow/Tara, Xander/Cordelia.
10. A pairing that I despise
Buffy/Riley, Buffy/Spike.

Lassiter. Normally with such roles like that you either love or hate the character, and I was fully expecting to dislike him however, as the episodes went on I'd begun to really like Lassiter and what he brings to the show in general.

I don't think I dislike anyone on this show. It's the kind of show where even if you're not fond of a specific character you just don't hate them. It's the setup, is what it is.

Again, I don't think many people hate other characters simply because it's a lighthearted kind of show.

Is there a character I'd want to be like? I'm not sure, I'd like to have the Shawn's heightened observational skills but that's basically it. That's not "becoming a character" per se, though it's a quality within a character that I would like to possess, which is almost the same thing.

Shawn/Juliet, because they're cute like whoa.

None. Strangely enough, this show doesn't really have enough pairings our couplings to really do this.

I've liked Cuddy, I just didn't expect her to be made of so much awesome. Which is totally is. Also Wilson, for the same reason. I think perhaps I like them because they're the only characters that can tolerate to be around House, even during his most inane acts.

I...really don't know. I dislike Cameron, a lot, but she's not liked by the House fandom either so it's not really an unpopular thing.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
Chase. Come on, how could you not love him? The Australian accent, and even House agrees about his hair being adorable!
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
I didn't used to like him at first, but Foreman had this on/off thing with me. At first he was annoying with screaming and yelling at House, then he started to pull back and let things be, understanding House's procedures and the way he works. And then, suddenly, he resigns because he doesn't want to become House. It's like, dude, pick a side already and stay with it!

Chase or Wilson, or Cuddy. I would've said House, but that would be way to conventional and predictable. And all the ladies in the fandom would be saying "get in line" which, believe, there would be a LONG line for that. Damn you, Hugh Laurie.

Lisa Cuddy, all the way baby!
08. The character I'd slap
Cameron and Foreman. Multiple times, actually.

House/Wilson = OTP FTW, and House/Cuddy.

Date: 2007-08-15 08:45 am (UTC)My top three favorite characters are Sharon, Six and Kara. Initially, coming into this show I knew I loved Sharon and Six, but since that time my love upon other characters has expanded.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Saul Tigh is certainly one of those characters that on the outside he seems like a bastard who drinks too much and makes the wrong calls and judgment on things, however there's more to his character than meets the eye. You can't just look at him from first impressions, you have to get a feel about who he really is before making that call. I see it like Kara has seen it, you have to reach a common ground of understanding, and that's how I feel about Saul Tigh. You don't want to admit you like him but, in the end, you really do.

04. The character I love that everyone else hates
I liked Boomer. I know there were people who didn't care much about Boomer at first, but she's what got me watching the show in the first place. Both Boomer and Six, actually as stated above. But I do like how Boomer has changed and grown since then, even if it's not exactly how you'd imagine her to take things.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
I guess you can say Boomer post-S2, since her character's storyline has pretty much lessened because her arc is done with. It was all about her accepting her true nature, and now that she has I don't think she'll be returning anytime soon. I'm more of the Athena supporter now. I still like Boomer, but Athena has taken hold of my heart.

I guess I really admire Kara and Sharon. Kara's been through a lot, Lord knows how many times she's been mindfrakked and tossled with, both by humans and Cylons alike. But she's overcome them, perhaps not in the brightest sense but Kara is tough and likes to fight back. Sharon, or "Athena", is also someone I would like to become. Despite everything she's gone through, all she ever wanted was to show how much she can be trusted and that her love for Helo was sincere, that Cylons can change from their original mission and supposed programming. She's proven numerous of times, and even when she was getting rejected and beaten and looked down upon, she kept her strength. Her love for Helo, for their child, was so strong that she kept moving onward. Although she went through a period of despair, she overcame that and dealt with it accordingly. She's an admirable character, both of them are, and I would want to be them when I grow up.

Gaius Baltar. I mean, who wouldn't want to bitchslap Gaius Baltar? Seriously.

Sharon/Helo, Six/Gaius, Adama/Roslin.

Mickey. I was "meh" about him at first, but he grew on me. Go figure.

Um, I'm not sure? I guess everyone jumps with joy at the Tenth Doctor, and while I like him too I much prefer Nine.

It seems that everyone in the DW fandom is ragging on Martha, however I kinda like her. Sure, she's no Rose obviously, but she doesn't have to be. Rose and Martha are completely different, she's not a replacement whatsoever. Also, it seems that people are forgetting that the Doctor has had many companions along with him before, Martha is no different from them. So yeah, I like Martha. Love Rose, but like Martha.

None. Everyone I've loved before I still love. End of story.

Nine, Ten, and Rose. What? It's possible that I like all three and would shag all three! Because they are teh sexy, no?

Although I mentioned I do like Martha, sometimes there are moments where she needs to be reminded where her priorities lie while being with the Doctor.

From the pilot with her sarcastic, snarky wit and cleverly spoken voiceovers, I knew she would be a female character I would like, and watching her every week wouldn't be so bad. I also loved the relationship she had with her father, which drew my attention immediately, since at that time there were hardly any good father-daughter relationships on television. Veronica/Keith = Best. Ever.

Lilly Kane. Admittingly I didn't know how to react to her character at first, but after the first season I decided that I LOVED Lilly. Also Dick Casablancas. Sure, Dick's a dickweed and jerkoff (no puns intended), but he's proven himself to have some kind of depth, and I blame Ryan Hansen for making me like him later on.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Logan. Sorry, I just don't like the guy. He has some nice moments here and there and I admit he can be a woobie, but none of which really took my breath away and I don't love him like the VMars fandom obsessively does. I see the guy as an asshole by nature, even with his woobie moments. *ducks from raging Logan fans*

Piz. I only saw scattered S3 episodes, but from what I've seen I do like Piz. For some reason he reminded me of Zac Efron. I don't know why.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
I guess I should say Logan again, because I did like him for a time (when he and Veronica were secretly having their relationship in S1), but after that it all went downhill. Also Beaver, especially after what happened at the end of S2 of him being the rapist and murderer. You don't DO THAT to a character I was actually loving.

07. The character I'd want to be like
Veronica, but early S1!Veronica. The spunkiness, the I-Take-Shit-From-No-One attitude, defiance when it's appropriate, and the chops for getting revenge and seek justice in a sleek, smooth and stealthy kind of way. Gotta love that, Veronica being a sleuth prowess in that respect, which is something I wish to acquire.
08. The character I'd slap
Lianne Mars for abandoning her family, lying, stealing and abandoning her family once again. She wins the Deadbeat Mother Award for sure.
09. A pairing that I love
Weevil/Veronica.
10. A pairing that I despise
Even though I liked them in S1, Logan/Veronica had gotten annoying afterwards and unbearable as they continued that soap opera-ish dramarama relationship crap.

Mal, and shortly thereafter River. Malcolm Reynolds is probably the scruffiest captain who has won my heart, aside from Han Solo that is. Just the way his character is, his way of thinking, his personal conflictions and how he views his crew...gotta love him. And River, it's quite obvious isn't it? River is my girl.

Jayne. I know we weren't supposed to like him, but Adamn Baldwin is made of awesome and therefore the character is too. Just sayin'.

Does Book count? I don't know if he's hated amongst the fandom, but he's clearly underappreciated.

as long as he promises to call in the morning, which I don't think he will but whatever07. The character I'd want to be like
River Tam. Despite the fact that she seems fragile, broken and vulernable, hidden in that small girl is strength and persistence; she's tough and strong, and doesn't let anyone mess around with her. From the beginning of the series she may seem meek, but come during "Objects in Space" she can outsmart even the most skilled bounty hunter. Now that's why River kicks ass, even without being physical. She's intelligent and courageous, and doesn't gloat about it either. Which is why I adore her so much, and would like to become that as well.

Simon, though only playfully just to get some sense into the boy. Because while he, too, is intelligent he sometimes is too dense.
09. A pairing that I love
Simon/River, Inara/Kaylee, Inara/Mal, Zoe/Wash.
10. A pairing that I despise
Jayne/River. I don't despise it, I just don't understand it.

Cordelia. Having her transferred from BtVS to Angel was a smart move, even though I missed her bantering sessions with the Scoobies I loved her joining with Angel. Something I didn't expect from her if you were watching the first few seasons of Buffy. She became ultimately one of my favorite characters from both shows.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Fred. There were times when I couldn't stand her, and times when I liked her. It's a love/hate thing, I was saddened when she died but happy that we'd gotten Illyria in her place. Does that make sense?
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
Connor. Okay, not exactly loving him really but I enjoyed his character more than the fandom did.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
Wesley. I missed pompous uptight Wesley, and then he became grundgy, scruffy and brooding much like Angel had been. He did a complete 180, and I'm not saying that he didn't have the right to. Tons of things went down that caused his character's attitude to change, but I liked innocent!Wesley a bit better that brooding!Wesley, because he was more hilarious and awkward then. But perhaps that's just me.
06. The character I would shag anytime
Angel(us), depending on the circumstance. And Gunn.
07. The character I'd want to be like
Cordelia, because she'd matured greatly since the beginning, of both shows actually. Frome being a wealthy self-centered popular girl who looked down on people to having a heart, fighting demons and ascending to a higher plain and ultimately sacrificing herself and offering helpful advice to those she worked with...now there's something to look up to. Cordelia, ever since getting those visions from Doyle (I'm STILL crying over that) her perspective of the world changed, as did her appreciation for what they do.

Wesley and Spike.
09. A pairing that I love
Angel/Faith. I love their connection and understanding one another's pains and suffering. He helping her and vice versa, so it comes around full-circle.
10. A pairing that I despise
While it was cute, it took too long for Wesley/Fred to get involved and left me devastated in the end. *shakes fist at Joss* Also, Cordelia/Connor. I mean really, WTF was that?!
