rogueslayer452Anthony Head has passed away at 72 from pneumonia.
I audibly gasped and went "no!" aloud when I read this headline. Genuinely, this is heartbreaking, even more so when learning that his wife of forty years also died recently in December, leaving behind two daughters who I hope have a good support system to get them through this difficult time.
Of course I mainly knew Anthony as Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he has had quite a successful career both before and after that series. Not only an impressive actor and performer in his own right, he was also a genuinely nice and kindhearted human being. I'll always remember this story of his support of a trans fan. It's more in depth than that, but it truly demonstrates the kindness and warmth that the man radiated towards others, as the same fan recently posted on bluesky in response to his passing reaffirmed this. While I never knew him, from all accounts he seemed like such an good and beautiful person inside and out.
