++ Things have been kind of busy in the RL department, especially around the house. For the last few weeks we've been having some rooms fixed on and remodeled, getting new/replacing furniture, and having to do a massive cleanup around the house in general, e.g. sorting and getting rid of unnecessary things. Which, I got to say, sometimes it's remarkable how much junk there can be. Not necessarily in a hoarder kind of way, but more of realizing that there's so much stuff laying around that was taken up space. It's been time consuming just trying to organize things. So yeah, that's been kind of taking up my time lately. Also it's been very, very hot here and our Internet connection started acting up for about a week and some, so I apologize for not being around as much due to that.

++ Apparently Syfy is planning on syndicating Spartacus, and I'm kind of laughing at the very thought of how much censoring and editing that will entail. Most of that show is nudity, sex, and language. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic show and I do want anyone who hasn't seen it to get introduced to it, but unless they plan on showing it after hours or whatever it will be incredibly watered down.

++ One of my favorite Internet actress/comedians has written a book which will be released later this year. I've been a fan of hers for some time now, and seeing how far she's come and all that she's accomplished in her self-made career, I'm very proud and happy for her. ♥

It's amazing how much stuff that we all have. It doesn't seem like much until you are cleaning, switching rooms, packing, etc. Then you're like, WHERE DID ALL OF THIS STUFF COME FROM?! I always think it's crazy when people wait until a few days before they have to move to start packing.

That's what I thought when I saw that. It reminds me of when I heard that True Blood was going to be syndicated on another channel. I was like... is it going to be 20 minute episodes? lol.

LOL @ Spartacus on SyFy. First...WTF it's not even SyFy! Second, yeah the show will be about 20 minutes long after they edit out all the not-suitable-for-basic-cable elements. OMG it will be like that time they ran Mallrats on TBS and there was just a scene where the camera was facing the wall and you could hear Jay giggling. That is probably what will happen.

I hope the remodeling goes well for you. I so need to go though my stuff and thin it out. It just seems like I keep getting more and more and it takes up so much room.

LOL I don't even watch Spartacus despite all the m/m and f/f sex because it's too gory for me. It is so far away from Syfy's usual line of programming...

There's all sorts of things I had forgotten that has just been collecting dust somewhere. Though my favorite bits is finding things to reminisce over, like the other day we found some old pictures and journals from years ago and we spent like fifteen minutes looking through them.

But the entire process is very, very time consuming and exhausting. It's definitely something that needs a few weeks to get done.

lol, pretty much what I thought, too. It's going to be really cut down, and it's going to be horrible and hilarious.

First...WTF it's not even SyFy!

To be fair, Syfy doesn't really have much "scifi" in their programming anymore. They only have a few dramas fitting that criteria, but the rest are just all reality shows.

But yeah, this decision makes me think of when R-rated movies are shown on basic cable channels and they edit it so thoroughly that it doesn't make any coherent sense (though hearing the substitute dubbing over profane words is hilarious sometimes, lol.) It's like, what's the point of airing it when the majority of it is completely censored? Things like Spartacus aren't meant to be for basic cable.

It's been very well. There's only one thing left to be done.

With all the cleaning of the house though, I realized that I still have to clean and sort out my bedroom. Gah.

That's true, but I *thought* SyFy had recently issued a statement saying they were trying to get back into actual SciFi. This does not seem like a step in the right direction.

OMG my favorite sub dubbing is still The Usual Suspects, one of the first scenes when all of the guys are in the line-up. The original line they all have to say is "give me the bag you motherfucker", but the sub-dub was "Fairy Godmother". Mind you, ever. single. actor has to say it.

And I will always remember the confusion when watching a tape-off-of-TV version of Poltergeist because the parents smoke marijuana and they weren't allowed to show that on TV so the camera is just facing the wall and you hear them giggling and breathing weird. It was odd.

I never found Spartacus too gory, personally speaking. It did have some moments, mostly just blood, but I don't recall there being anything too drastic considering the special effects used and whatnot. But perhaps I've gotten pretty desensitized to that kind of stuff. I mean, I'm able to watch something like Hannibal while eating, so that says something, lol.

Syfy's programming literally has no usual line-up anymore. Lately it's been more or less reality shows than actual original dramas of a particular genre.

I'm so proud for all their achievements and successes so far. With them making a movie, and doing their comedy shows, and having secret projects (there's rumors that Grace may have her own show on television? Idk and I don't want to speculate until she gives an official announcement), and I'm just so happy with how far they've all come. :D
