Ringer 1.01

I quite liked it.

I know there have been some mixed reactions to it, the pilot not being what people were expecting, but as far as first episodes go I feel like it achieved what it set out to do. Get people interested. From my television watching experience, pilots shouldn't be judged on what the rest of the season will be like. Sometimes certain shows have amazing pilots, some are iffy but the show gets better over time. I feel that the pilot for Ringer was setting up for what is to come, and leaving the rest of the season for us to figure it all out.

I have some seen some people asking whether we're excited for the show or that we're actually excited that Sarah Michelle Gellar is back on our screens. I'd say it's both.

Ringer has loads of potential, the story, the characters, we just have to give it a chance.

As for the premiere itself, I am rather intrigued with where everything is going. Clearly there's a lot of setting up going on, characters orchestrating certain things, plotting, scheming. Bridget is caught between hiding her own past while posing as her twin sister, who she believes to have killed herself, finding a way out from her disastrous life and starting anew. Only she finds herself stuck in a web of more complications than she ever thought possible. Siobhan's no saint, she has secrets of her own. Both sisters lived completely separate lives, both wanting an out. But possibly one wanting to get rid of the other? So many questions, so many twists and turns, the ending was quite a mindfuck. Siobhan is still alive? Is she framing her sister, getting away with something? Why, and for what?

All I can say is that I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out.

I thought it was okay? I mean, there's no doubt in my mind that I'll keep watching because ITA that it has potential but the pilot was a bit meh for me.

I feel like all of the 'twists' were really obvious: Siobhan's lover being her BFFs hubby, Siobhan being pregnant, Siobhan being alive...I called all of those before the pilot even aired so I was a bit disappointed that there weren't more unexpected twists.

That being said, SMG back on my screen is EPIC and she's clearly going to ROCK these roles! The rest of the cast seemed solid and I'm already interested in Bridget's relationship with her sponser, as well as how she'll deal with Siobhan's step-daughter.

All in all, not a bad pilot, but not really what I expected.

I didn't call Siobhan being pregnant, but everything else was practically revealed in the trailer/preview for the show itself. But now we'll be getting more into the whys and all the big fat question marks.

I agree that SMG's performance was amazing. I think it's part of my giddiness is seeing her back on my screen, but also seeing at how she's getting on with these roles. These roles that she's playing like three parts for, really (Bridget, Siobhan, and Bridget pretending to be Siobhan) I'm also interested in seeing how Bridget is gonna handle the stepdaughter too. I suspect she'll connect with her on some level, realizing that the stepdaughter might remind her of herself and try to form a bond with the girl. Just my thoughts.

Overall, it wasn't a perfect premiere, but it definitely held my interest and hopefully it'll get better with time.

To be honest, after watching the pilot, I have no real feelings about that show either way. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. Could be interesting, could be boring. I simply don't know yet.
I guess I'll just have to wait a few more episodes before I make up my mind.

The pilot was okay. The boating scene looked like it was green screened and really threw me out of the scene, but overall it was an okay pilot. Gonna continue tuning in, though. I think I already ship Andrew/Bridget *__*

I thought that too about the boating scene. :/

It was a decent pilot, but I think for many people it wasn't about the quality it was about SMG returning to television. So let's hope that the rest of the episodes turn out to be better in order to hold an audience for the rest of the season. Because you've got to admit, it's great potential in terms of plot and story.

Pilots are usually like that. Some of them grip you instantly, some of them you're still on the fence about. It's too early to judge just yet.
