++ THIS HAS MADE ME A VERY VERY HAPPY BUNNY. Casting and role spoilers for Dollhouse, but are nonetheless awesome, and the article refuses to call SciFi "Syfy". Right on.

++ Just a random thought: Disney Channel should really bring back all the classic Disney Channel stuff, you know before it became a revenue for tween shows that are repeated ad nauseum. I'm serious. I mean, some of the stuff is cute if a bit overdone and overrated, but things used to be so diverse and filled with a wide variety of things for people of all ages, not just kids and preteens. I want the classic Disney to return, like syndication of their old shows or even the shows they used to syndicate that were from other countries or from other channels. It's the same with Nickelodeon, too. I was watching the old school Nick, with the old cast members of All That and Kenan and Kel and Are You Afraid Of The Dark? and all of those classics. Kids television just isn't as it used to be, somehow I think ours was a bit better because of that variety. Oh, the 90s.

++ Is there such a thing as overkill in a franchise? The HSM movies are done, as far as I know, but here comes The Final Destination, which happens to be the fourth, and there's yet ANOTHER Bring It On movie coming direct-to-DVD. I enjoyed the first two FD films, mainly because of Ali Larter, but didn't see the third and won't be seeing the fourth as they've gotten cheesier, in my opinion. The BIO films, I don't even know. I don't think they anticipated this kind of a franchise, but the first with Kristen Dunst, Clare Kramer and Eliza Dushku will remain the best. I also enjoyed the one with Hayden Panettiere, but that's a given. The rest, no.

++ I have this urge to watch Mean Girls all of a sudden, because it's such a fun, entertaining and quotable movie. And I love those kinds of teen movies. And I LOVE Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried in it, so hilarious.

But it was hinted of the distaste for the Channel name change, which I like seeing. Because it is stupid.

RIDICULOUS, ITA OMG. Like, not enough movie for you guys? The first is the one and only awesome one out there. The rest are like cheap knockoffs or something, trying to top what the first one had. I don't know, I know they can be fun and stuff and I do enjoy cheerleader/dance kind of movies, but it's becoming too much.

I love the first Bring It On and that was the only one of the franchise I've seen and probably will ever see. They just like to milk those movies for all it's worth and no one ever really cares whether or not it's actually good.

I seriously need to get my friend to watch Mean Girls since she's never seen it before. It's hilarious and it was Lindsay Lohan before all the mess.

They are already out on DVD, all seven seasons I believe. However only available in Canada, but since I have a region-free DVD player I can buy them for myself. ;)

I loved the first two Final Destination movies because there was continuity, the second had more consistencies with the first (bringing back Ali as Clear Waters, for example, and tying in the mythology). I only saw bits of the third via online and I thought that and the new one are the ones trying too hard, but heh whatevs.

Mean Girls is probably the last "good" movie Lohan has ever done, she went downhill from there. But I really don't watch the movie for her, I watch for the other actors because they pretty much upstaged Lohan in this movie. Rachel McAdams in particular. ♥ God, I love her.

I thought the second one was trying to hard, the main character seemed to try and channel the main guy from the first movie a little to much, and the whole Ali Carter returning was just overkill. I loved the third one though, I honestly thought it would be the last one though lol.

I'm not sure what's the hold up though, but things are slowly being released onto DVD these days. It took forever for them to have Clarissa Explains It All on DVD. Now I'm just hoping if they'll have an All That collection set or something, that would be sweet.

I didn't think it was overkill at all, more like a conclusion of sorts with her character. It was a pleasant surprise to see Ali again, since I loved her character in the first (sad that she died though, but it made sense since you really can't cheat death, so she was the long-lasting of the original folks of the first one). The ending was a bit cheesy, I'll admit that. But I disagree it was overkill. Being a sequel means making those connections to the first, whereas the other two in the franchise aren't really doing that from what I've seen/read. But I haven't seen the last two fully, so I can't make a full judgment. I just don't know if I'll like them the way I do the first two, is all.

Either way, I hope this new FD will be THE ABSOLUTE LAST one. No more trying to continue the franchise when there's no need to, imo.

And this is why we are disagreeing about the sequels lol. I found the connections(other than the obvious), to the first movie to be annoying which is one of the reasons why I didn't like the second movie. I liked it better when there were vague connections to the people in the first two movies so much better. All the connections to the first movie that was in the second one felt like a bad repeat of the first one while referencing it at the same time.

I guess I feel like the sequels should mention the first movie to some extent, but leave it at that because of the type of movies that they are. The third one did reference the other movies, but not much. And you learn that the two survivors from the second movie are dead, but they don't mention how(for that you have to go through the special features on the DVD and at some point you come across a newspaper article which mentions what happened to them).

It's funny because I saw an ad on TV adverstising the DVD release of Pete's Dragon and I was like OMG THAT'S FINALLY OUT ON DVD?! Because I loved that movie growing up. It's fun to see all my childhood memories arrive on DVD, though most of them probably won't be and that's just sad. :(

I think I heard somewhere that they're stopping with all those unnecessary sequels now, at least with Disney sequels anyway. Which if this is true I say THANK GOD! No more of the ridiculous Mulan 2, Little Mermaid 2, Cinderella 2 or whatever else. Leave those classics alone, and everything else!

oh, definitely. i mean, obviously we had a bit different shows, because we didn't get disney channel/nickelodeon at the time, but we still had some of the same shows and the, well, the feel to it, i suppose, was pretty much the same. maybe i'm biased, what with feeling all sorts of nostalgic about the classics, but i do miss them. watching kids television today just isn't the same anymore, and not just because i'm no longer five years old.

and i've been meaning to watch dollhouse for months now, but never quite got around to do it (too busy rewatching dark angel, i suppose) but that particular spoiler made me really want to catch up.

also, mean girls! \o/ i always feel slightly embarrassed admitting i like it, but hey, it's fun. :D

Yeah, I don't know if this happens to all generations but there's no sense of actual quality to the newer stuff like how ours was. I mean, there will always be timeless stuff like Sesame Street and whatnot, but nowadays it seems that kids shows have gotten a bit -- I don't want to say "dumber", but watered down in a sense? I just remember back when I was watching some shows I got things like Gargoyles and Goosebumps. Everything these days are so PC and controlled and acting like kids don't know anything. I don't know if that's just American TV or what, it just feels like it compared to what we grew up with.

Dude, definitely start watching Dollhouse as soon as you can. Others have mentioned it's not good or whatever, don't listen to them. The first half wasn't stellar but the second half of the season DEFINITELY picks up. It has much promise and with that casting spoiler (amongst other guest-stars), it's bound to be more epic next season. :)

AYAOTD is definitely a classic for us, goes with Goosebumps as well. We really did have some pretty awesome shows back in the day, didn't we? Nowadays you can't find much with that quality anymore.

I agree about the 3D effects (except when it comes to the Harry Potter at IMAX where they do have the 3D experience, but only for a selected scene because it's Harry Potter, hee). I feel like the first two FD movies were amazing in story and quality, but the later ones feel too cheesy and less of the scary and mystery and more with the shock value of the kinds of deaths. Which to me is boring.

Omgosh, you need to watch the first Bring It On. It is truly amazing and awesome. :D
