As everyone knows I'm spoiler-free for my main fandoms, and I dislike being spoiled even in comments to posts that have nothing to do with spoilers. And even if there's any potential spoilerish things mentioned I try to avert my eyes but I do read words being put together and once it gets into my mind that's it, there's no erasing it.

That being said, I may or may not have read a potential spoiler regarding S3 of Heroes. It was an accidental find and I quickly turned away from the source, however my eyes skimmed over certain words and it's kind of processing in my head. Having not read the entirety of what the spoilers were about I don't know if what I read will happen or to what extent it'll happen in, but I do know something involving certain characters and I honestly don't know how I feel about it. If what I'd skimmed over turns out to be true, that is. We all know how spoilers are, and how overexaggerated things can get, and basically this is my assumption based on that. Still, my mind is reeling and I need to get out my thoughts for it.


This spoiler contains something involving Maya and her storyline in the upcoming season, and with Mohinder. There's been spoilers about characters recently and the biggest ones I know of involve Mohinder and/or Maya. Possibly together, in a possible romance storyline togetherness.

To be honest having a romance storyline when Tim Kring had mentioned in his apology statement months ago that Heroes wasn't the romance-kind of show doesn't seem like a good comeback, especially since that was the main complaint from people who were displeased with season two. Also, I don't see Mohinder being in a relationship, not this deep in the series with everything going on around him. He's far too invested with what's happening and his work than being involved with someone, and even with someone like Maya who is completely unstable and not in control of her power it would be too dangerous. Granted, if the season starts with her being in control and being more confident within herself and Mohinder having something to do with that, perhaps I could consider her having a heroic crush on him. Hell, it could be comical even. But otherwise the idea of them being together romantically just doesn't sit right with me.

I mean, just like with the superpower thing, I like having Mohinder being the only one not having a love interest in the series. It just works better for his character that way, at least to me. And Maya really needs to start being independent and coming into her own, and hey if they formed a friendship or teamed up and worked together I would be happy with that. But relationship-wise, that wouldn't be good for either of them.

Now, I could just be reading too much into what could be a spoiler. Perhaps nothing'll come out of it at all, maybe it'll be like with how Mohinder/Eden was back in season one and nothing huge will pursue from it. I don't know, see why I dislike even the smallest amount of being spoiled? I don't know the context of what'll be happening to either of them or the extent of it, all I know is that a few people weren't pleased with a particular spoiler and one person even was all "just kill Maya" mode and that doesn't sound good at all. So, I have no idea what'll happen or how this thing, if it's true, will be presented or precieved on screen.


Note that this doesn't harsh my squee about the upcoming season, since I'm still pretty damn optimistic. But when it involves characters that I love I can't help but get curious or concerned; I haven't read further into anything else other than what I accidentally stumbled across. I don't even know if it's true, hell I'm not even sure if this is as a huge of a deal as I'm making it out to be. This is what happens when my mind starts overthinking and going into all sorts of scenarios.

Aw...I like your idea of her having a crush on him. I could accept that too. I don't read spoilers about heroes either. I've read some general story line info, but it usually all confuses me, so I tend to just ignore, especially since a lot of it conflicts. I know a lot of times people involved in shows will leak incorrect spoilers too so they can keep the fans guessing, so if the possible romantic thing is what the spoilery information was concerned with, maybe it is a false leak?

I had a feeling given how some people seemed to be displeased about these apparent spoilers, some of it had to involve these two. It seems I was right.

I've become a Mohinder/Maya supporter which is in part due to how hot Sendhil and Dania are and I am quite shallow. That doesn't make me no less concerned about how any romantic relationship between them is played out in the series because I do prefer Mohinder to keep doing what he's doing. That's not to say he wouldn't if he and Maya start a relationship.

I'm thinking if she hasn't gotten complete control of her powers from the first episode, it'll happen early in the season. At the NBC Upfronts, Sendhil and Dania were talking about how their characters are going through changes. They were genuinely really excited and animated about it so I do have faith in those two that I didn't read any sarcasm in Sendhil's voice like how he was gushing about his action figure when we already knew he hated it.

I wanted to smack Tim when he said that because season one had some really good romantic relationships in it, especially D.L./Niki and Hiro/Charlie. The bastards made me cry when Charlie told Hiro she was dying but he gave her a reason to keep living. If Tim and co. can bring some of the magic that the romantic relationships in season one into Mohinder/Maya, I think that relationship can actually be something really worth watching unfold.

I had this itching feeling that those were what the spoilers were about, and honestly I was hoping it wasn't true, but it appears to be correct. Now thinking about it I'm kind of am on the fence over the whole thing.

I know that the show can do good relationship storylines, Hiro/Charlie a prime example of a sweet short-lived romance, and even the potential of Mohinder/Eden had it's possibilities. I think my main fear is it not being executed as brilliantly as those were during S1, and while I do have faith in the show I just don't want a repeat of what happened in S2. Which is why if anything happens between Mohinder and Maya I want it to be thoroughly thought out and handled carefully and smartly. I do know they can do that, but since many people already have hatred towards Maya, and some are still not pleased with Mohinder from what happened last season, this may result into more bashing and as a fan I don't want that. I see potential with Mohinder/Maya, I do, but as I mentioned I like Mohinder being by himself with his work, a man with a mission, and that's something I would like to see continue on sans romance.

Honestly, I don't know. I love Mohinder, and I liked Maya despite fandom's objections, but as a couple I'm uncertain. We have yet to see anything of this so I can't pre-judge based on that small bit of spoilers. If they do this right it might not be bad at all, and in fact it could be interesting character developments unfolding for them both as you said. We'll just have to wait and see.

This is why I dislike leaked spoilers.

The idea of Maya having a crush on Mohinder is kind of cute to me, because it's like a mimick of Claire's admiration for Peter after he saved her at homecoming. The same thing with Mohinder when he saved Maya's life, so I could totally see her giving him starry eyes of admiration the same way Claire did. But I'm kind of wary about an actual relationship between the two characters, since I mainly see Mohinder as a man of science who is dedicated to his work and having something with a woman who infects fatal poison to others around her from just her emotions isn't something I see going well, TBH.

I don't know, but hopefully whatever happens they do execute the situation smartly.

I've only seen one teaser trailer and just know the basic information of what S3 is going to be about, otherwise I don't actively look for or appreciate leaked spoilers.

Yeah, it's just frustrating because I'm avoiding spoilers at all costs. But in fandom, you'll get bombarded with anything whether spoilery, nonspoilery, fake!spoilery, whatever. That's the sucky part. :/

Interesting spoiler, hmm. I'm not too keen on the idea of Mohinder/Maya though, because I feel that if the character should have a love interest, he deserves more than Maya (my hate for Maya and Alejandro knows no bounds lol). Also, I'm not too sure if Tim Kring can write good romance arcs (Claire/West has scarred me possibly for life) although Hiro/Charlie and Nikki/DL were rather well-written, but extremely short-lived since someone in a canon-pairing on the show always seems to get killed off.

Yeah, and if anything their relationship would be shortly lived too, because I can't see them going far if they do wind up together. She's too dangerous and he's too dedicated to his work, and given everything around them and what this season will bring it just wouldn't end well and lets up death isn't one of the circumstances though, because I want my Momo to live!

Exactly, and that's what I love about Mohinder and hope they don't stray away from that direction of his character. I guess that's my biggest fear out of discovering this spoilery tidbit, is that his characterization will be messed with if he's involved with someone of romantic interest. Since he's hardly shown interest in anyone romantically in the series at all it would be ultimately weird to see him with Maya in a relationship, if it happens in that kind of manner. I wouldn't mind if it was some puppy love on Maya's part and perhaps some interest on his, but to go further into that would just not be right in my eyes.

There's just something about it that makes me not fully like the concept, and as I mentioned to someone else above it's because I like Mohinder being that lone wolf and on his own. Would I like to see him happy in a relationship? Someday maybe, but not now where everything is going batshit in the universe. IDK, it could work but then again it couldn't. It all depends on how they handle it, I guess, and in the context of how it happens.

The crush thing is so Maya, since she easily fell for Sylar, so I wouldn't put it passed her to fall for Mohinder like you could blame her 'cause c'mon, look at how gorgeous he is!

Oh, thank you. I felt like the only one here who read something like that and got confused, because I like Maya but still prefer them not having anything romantical. Especially not since I am quite fond of asexual Mohinder and him having a romance with someone when the volume is called Villains is not exactly what I'm hoping to see. Sigh.

But, I kind of like the idea of heroic crush! I've been thinking about it with Elle, but I'd like it with Maya too. You know, where Mohinder is too concerned about other things to notice that somebody is crushing on him lol. Now that would be typical Mohinder, at least to me. But then again, I'm not sure if I want to see Maya with another so-called love interest. And I also kind of like the idea that it would happen in the future, a bit like Peter/Niki in 5YG.

Yeah. The typical Mohinder behavior would be to be oblivious to anyone having a crush on him or not particularly care, since he's all science and work and saving people. He doesn't have time for the romancing. I mean remember last season where the girls were all over Mohinder or touching him, and he's all "WTF?" Yeah, that's Mohinder.

I guess I'm just too protective of him because I love Mohinder, and I don't want to see them fuck up his characterization. That's the main problem I have with this spoiler, especially since he's the asexual of the whole group on the show in general. I mean, I wouldn't mind if he had a little attraction to someone, but to actively pursue it this far in the series would kind of be not a good or safe thing to do.

But then again, we must remember that the spoilers came from E!Kristin, who is usually wrong or at least miles off.

Oh god, let's hope so. And I remember way back when Kristin even mentioned something about romantic interests for the SPN boys and fandom was FREAKING THE HELL OUT over it, only to discover that it didn't happen like that at all and it was all an exaggeration. Therefore, E!Kristin cannot be trusted, and knowing that makes me feel a little better. Besides, she did try to push that on Sendhil and Dania back in the NBC Upfronts. She just wants to really press for information based on her own personal agenda.
