Fanvid Friday: Firefly, Part Deux

We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty. )

My Comments: A little late to the party with the announcement of brand new shiny updated Funko Pops (of all the Serenity crew this time), I wanted to share another round of Firefly fanvids that I rediscovered and remembered from years ago, to give that sense of nostalgia once again. The first one is by [livejournal.com profile] heresluck, who I remember back during LJ created some fantastic fanvids from various fandoms. This one is my favorite in regards to Firefly, the song fits the tone and mood the vidder was going for, and it's just very beautifully done. The second fanvid is set to "Mal's Song", an iconic Firefly filk song. There had been various fanvids set to this, but this one really matches the scenes to the words of the song nicely.

Fanvid Friday: Firefly

I need Serenity.... )

My Comments: This is an older fanvid for Firefly that I'm glad I found because it's among my favorites. It's just a general fanvid of the show where it's mainly about the crew of Serenity, with a bit of focus on Mal since the ship has been his savior, brilliantly set to "Serenity" by Godsmack. While the quality isn't the best due to this being an older fanvid, the editing and scene transitions to match certain moments of the song itself is cleverly done.

There were a lot of amazing fanvids from back in the day that sadly don't exist anywhere anymore, either the places I found them have disappeared or links are broken and the vidder themselves haven't, to my knowledge, uploaded them on YouTube or anywhere else, which is sad. So it makes me happy to see some of the ones I remember watching (and have downloaded on an old harddrive) available to share with others.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter.

++ I recently found out that costumer designer Shawna Trpcic has passed away. She's worked on various projects, but I mostly knew her from Whedon shows, particularly that of Firefly since I listened to an episode commentary with her featured where she discussed the process of the costumes for that specific episode among other behind-the-scenes information. So even though I didn't follow her closely over the years, this news was still quite a shock.

++ Reddit is a site that I previously was hesitant on visiting that much in the past because I heard it was a cesspool, and while it can be that for sure so can most sites, to be honest. It just depends on the subreddit. Reddit operates similarly to that of the old school forum/message boards with subreddits have individual moderators, which is part of why I've been finding myself visiting there more frequently as of late. Although the site itself has its fair share of issues, it's also a great way of finding different communities and people with opinions, thoughts, and places of discussion that isn't so easily found elsewhere online, including useful resources, informative advice and news updates. I don't have an account there, I prefer to lurk and browse, but I do like visiting daily for these particular things, from fandom to just general news and information.

++ Watching Make Some Noise on Dropout.tv has been my highlight of the last week. It's a spin-off little game show from its own game show, Game Changer, where both are similar in the format of Whose Line although I'd argue that Make Some Noise is a bit more of that in its nature due to its prompts. And just like Game Changer, it's absolutely hilariously chaotic. I'm sure some have already seen some clips floating about (the Times New Roman vs. Comic Sans one, and the most recently Brennan Lee Mulligan's Trump-as-Sauron impression being the most circulated that I've seen), and trust me it's this unhinged and then some. Here is a random compilation of some moments from season two just to get a bit of a glimpse of the shenanigans that occur.

Take my love, take my land.

++ First, we officially have a new president in office. I'm filled with so much relief.

++ I've been rather stalled on a lot of things I want to talk about, mostly fandom-related but just anything in general. My motivation of posting kind of halted for a bit due to not being in the right mental state for it, though I often have this problem with attempting to write a post and abandoning it because I cannot articulate my thoughts correctly. With that being said, I'm attempting to get back into the swing of things again, and what a better way to do that than with a fandom meme. This is one I've done before in the past and I figured why not start this off with a bang with discussing one of the fandoms I keep coming back to from time to time, Firefly.

You can't take the sky from me.... )

I plan on doing this meme again with other science fiction shows, such as The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica, and perhaps possibly The Untamed since that is one of my major fandoms at the moment. I'm probably not going to do all of my fandoms, because while that would definitely be a challenge it would also be a lot. I'm mostly just going to be doing them for ones that I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on.

That makes us mighty.

++ Oscar Isaac giving absolutely no fucks and calling out Disney/Star Wars for being homophobic cowards is something I deeply appreciate. I understand actors wanting to keep their mouths shut about things in fear of getting blacklisted, but we do need more of them to come out of the woodwork and call out the industry for this kind of shit. The more pushback, the more likely someone will listen.

With that being said, unfortunately Hollywood is still not LGBT friendly. Most mainstream movies are not, this is especially true for huge franchises. They'll promise and claim there will be an LGBT character revealed only for it to be an elaborate queerbaiting marketing scheme to get money. Some directors are genuine about it, of course, and we also appreciate their honest efforts, but the higher ups are ultimately the ones in charge and who make the calls. It's been clear for a long time now that Hollywood movies are far behind when it comes to any representation of marginalized groups. Sure, there will be that groundbreaking one every once in a while, but for every step forward there are many steps backwards, so nothing is really progressing at all. Other forms of media, however, while not entirely perfect and still have issues of their own, have pushed through those boundaries and are far better with having representation in their stories. Hollywood needs to collectively get their act together and stop living in their outdated version of how movies should be. They won't, of course, but this is why I'm hoping that more actors, directors, people behind the scenes, will push back hard enough that something will change from within.

++ Apparently FOX is open to the idea of a Firefly revival. There's been talk about reviving the series for years now, and I still stand by my opinion that, as much as I loved the series, it needs to be left alone. With that being said, I do agree that the only way it could work is if it's a limited series. A limited series on a streaming service the either focuses on a new crew with cameos from the original cast, or having the old crew who separated from Serenity come back together after all these years for one last hurrah. Ideally, that would be fantastic. I doubt it will happen, though.

Leaf on the wind...

++ Ron Glass (Shepherd Book from Firefly) passed away yesterday. It's kind of hard to believe, honestly. It feels like it was yesterday when the excitement over the Serenity movie being made and the entire cast was returning. I may have never met the man but I have heard and seen much about him, from his sardonic sense of humor to his heartwarming moments with the rest of his fellow cast members, to his infectious booming laugh. It's hard to comprehend that a member of the crew is gone, but he will never, ever be forgotten. Rest in peace.

++ 2NE1 has officially disbanded, which adds more salt on the wound since 4Minute also disbanded earlier this year as well. Though I have to admit it wasn't surprising about 2NE1 since CL has been trying to make her American debut and it would be impossible for her to do that while doing a comeback with the group in Korea, whenever that would've been, so I suspected it as much. But 4Minute's disbanding broke my heart because they had just had their comeback, but it was announced of them being discontinued as a group rather abruptly. I know some don't necessarily care about kpop groups, and I only know some of the drama/behind the scenes negotiations from what I read at selective sources but not as closely as more hardcore fans who follow those kinds of stories. But nevertheless, such news is still heartbreaking. I really liked both groups, they both debuted around the same time and both released some amazing bops over the years. Some of my favorites from 2NE1 include: "Fire", "Can't Nobody" and "Follow Me". And from 4Minute: "HuH (Hit Your Heart)", "Crazy", and "Hate". Thank you girls for everything over the years, may your futures be bright and bring you much success.

July Question Meme: Day 3

Asked by [livejournal.com profile] verdande_mi:

Do you have any favourite cast(s) from film or TV?

This has undoubtedly been said before, but it still remains true, I think the Firefly cast is probably one of my top favorite group of people just for the simple fact that they all have remained incredibly close friends all these years later. Aside from the fact of how much fun they had filming the show (and the movie Serenity), they have also continued going to these conventions whenever they get the chance year after year and never tire of talking about the show and what it meant to them and how they love all the fans, and overall how they're so tight with each other. Their friendship as a whole is just something beautiful to see, honestly.

With movies, most recently it's been Star Wars, more specifically from the original trilogy and the newer films. Seeing the behind the scenes from The Force Awakens and the cuteness from everyone involved is adorable. They just make me so happy. ♥

SDCC: Firefly 10th Anniversary Reunion

When I see you guys, I don't think the show is off the air. I don't think there's a show. I think that's what the world is like. I think there's spaceships, I think there's horses. I think it's going on in all of us. The story is alive. )

Perhaps one of the most anticipated panels of the entire event. Although not everyone from the cast could make it to the reunion event, what we got was an amazing hour of sharing hilarious stories, reminiscing, and just loving and appreciating all the love and support and passion everyone has over the series. There are heartfelt emotional moments during this panel, most notably at the very end when Joss Whedon delivers a heartwarming and moving speech in response to a question talking about what the fans of Firefly mean to him. He was rendered speechless, there were tears, a standing ovation, and just pure emotion coming from the heart. If you're a Browncoat, this is certainly worth watching. Just be sure to grab some tissues, you will be sniffling.

Following directly after the panel they had a press conference: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

Firefly Reunion EW Interview with everyone (sans Joss)

Also, for anyone who didn't know, the Science Channel is doing a special arrangement later this year where they will be marathoning Firefly along with showing a special presentation, which was filmed during SDCC (privately, and showing clips from their panel) which will be reliving the series through everyone and discussing what the show meant to them, and how beloved this cult series has become and is still going strong after ten years. So, stay tuned for that!

Overall, this has been said before, but I don't think there's a cast out there who loves a series more than how the Firefly cast loves Firefly. I don't think there's a writer/creator out there who is just as passionate and dedicated to their work as Joss Whedon is about Firefly. It is evident from this reunion, it is evident throughout the years and it will continue to be like this because, we're still flying. ♥

Comic-Con 2012

There will be a 10th anniversary Firefly panel at Comic-Con.

With everything else that will be going on, this will no doubt be the biggest event of the entire weekend. Joss and his crew are considered rockstars at this convention, adding in a Firefly panel on top of everything else, I won't be surprised if the room will be completely packed and overflowing with Browncoats and other Whedon fans alike. It makes me sad that I won't be attending, since if there's one thing I would kill for would be to see and meet this man, and the entire Firefly cast, in person. One day, though. One day this wish will come true.

I'm mostly just looking forward to seeing the outcome of this panel, tbh. You know shenanigans are gonna happen, as they always do.

Speaking of which, is anyone actually attending Comic-Con this year?

For anyone going to the Supernatural panel, which will have Jeremy Carver and Ben Edlund, I really want someone to ask them intelligent questions. Like, actual legitimate thought-provoking questions that we need answers to, not to mention certain things that need to be properly addressed regarding the direction and writing on the show and the development of the characters. At other conventions the actors answer the best they can, but this is one of the rare moments when the writers/producers can actually answer such questions directly themselves. It's one of the reasons why I wish I was going because believe me, I have a shitload of questions that I really want to ask that only come up during online discussions and debates, but rarely, if ever, asked or taken seriously at fan conventions. So I find this to be a great opportunity to ask those important questions that we've hardly gotten a serious answer to before. Never mind that I really am interested to hear what Jeremy Carver has to say now that he's the new showrunner.

SO MUCH LOVE RIGHT NOW.

Sean Maher talks openly, for the first time, about his sexuality in this heartfelt interview.
Maher remembers those projects as some of his best — even though his personal life was still off-limits during that time. “Looking back, on Firefly for instance, I do wish on day one I had told them because these are some of the most amazing people who are still like family to me,” Maher says. “I am so grateful for that show because they saved me. I was so unhappy and lonely and to come to work everyday with that group was wonderful. It really was all I had at that point in my life.”

[...]

In the end, coming out publicly is what Maher feels he needed to do to tie his life together, personally and professionally. “Creatively, I feel so much more open and free, and I am so happy on The Playboy Club,” he says. “I think it’s because I’ve never been so open on set. All of the relationships that I have off-camera, I never would have allowed five years ago. It feels so liberating.”
This whole article is worth the read as it gives his personal experience with being a closeted gay actor in the business and how he came to this decision to officially come out today. But I think what got me emotional was his talk about his family, his partner and his children and those he considers family, a.k.a. the entire cast of Firefly. Just this whole thing has made me emotionally really, but in the good way because I am so, so proud of him and so happy that he's happy and finally comfortable with coming out and that this was his decision on doing so. That takes a lot of courage and I'm just so happy and proud for him. :)

Oh, and never mind that the Firefly cast, those who have Twitter anyway, have been overwhelming him with so much love and support.

ONCE A BIG DAMN FAMILY, ALWAYS A BIG DAMN FAMILY. ♥ ♥ ♥

"Some people juggle geese!"

So....apparently Han Solo was in Firefly. The miniature carbonated version anyway, stuck in the background of several scenes in the show itself. Being a constant presences of inspiration for our rugged Malcolm Reynolds, it seems. Oh Joss Whedon, your fanboying geekery amuses and delights me. *g* Because of this trivia I happily rewatched the episodes to spot them myself even though someone already did, since it's a nice excuse to what my shiny show again. I am such a Browncoat, heee.

Another piece of trivia: There was a Firefly class spaceship in the mini-series of Battlestar Galactica.

I also get a kick watching people's shocked reaction when they learn that Zac Efron played young!Simon on the show in his first acting role ever. ;)

Random is happening. It must be Monday.

Things that make me happy:

++ I think I mentioned a while ago that I'm gradually learning to play the piano, I'm still at it. Right now alongside the typical things like Beethoven's stuff that are very easy to learn, I'm kind of more dedicated to learning Bear McCreary's pieces because I love his music and duh, BSG. Come on. It's funny though, I used to be able to read music because I was in band in elementary school, but I've totally forgotten how! So I'm relearning it. XD There's a minor issue with our piano, which we've had like forever, because the strings are kind of out of tune and it's sounding all weird. But that's fixable, I just don't want to do it myself because I don't trust myself with these things, lol.

++ Shopping. I'm kind of buying myself a whole new wardrobe not just for the fall but also for Chicago next month. I might make a fashion post later, who knows. My closest is gonna suffer, for sure. I already have so much shit in there it's insane.

++ I HAS MY COMPUTER BACK! My main computer was having some technical difficulties for the last couple of weeks (aka the Blue Screen of Deatttthhh!!) for whatever reason, we don't really know, but it's been fixed now. *knocks on wood* It's where I keep the majority of my work, but I'm making sure to back them up anyway. But I'm happy to have it back. It's just weird because I've been using my laptop since it's been down, so I've gotten used to really using it instead of the other, heh.

++ Misha Collins, as always. ♥ He always makes me happy.

Things that make me laugh:

++ This morning was so weird. Like okay, I'm still chauffeuring my sister because she needs to get another car, so I'm driving her to work and all this weird stuff was happening that normally doesn't happen when I drive her to her work. Like we counted three cars along the way having stopped at the side of the road because of whatever troubles they had, there was a fire near an abandoned house on a dry abandoned field, a car was staled in the middle of the road and three motorcyclists came out of nowhere from the area to help. Literally, they like zoomed by at random. And there was a dead squirrel on the road. I don't know, you had to be there, but it was just weird and I think I was too punchy I kept laughing when it happened. Anyway, yeah. I'm weird. Today is weird. lol

++ THESE GUYS LOL OMG WHUT. BEST CAST EVER.

The entire panel from this year's Dragon*Con is completely hilarious also, but this really had me laughing until I was crying last night, I swear. I love the gags they play on each other, Nathan in particular loves planning these kinds of pranks on them by calling into their panels and just the random things they do to each other (feel bad for the people wanting to ask questions though, damn Nathan and him spoiling things! but in the most entertaining way of course). I still love that after all these years all these people are still close friends and go to these conventions. They are so adorable and comfortable with each other, I love this cast so much. Best big damn cast ever, imo. ♥

And this is why I think Nathan Fillion and Misha Collins would get along so well. Just saying because it's true. They would make the best partners in crime, I'm so not joking. It needs to happen. *g*

Day 27: "The one that started it all."

Day 27 - Best pilot episode

Teenage cyborg protectors, the human race on the run from their machine creations, those just trying to get by out in the black, and a post-apocalyptic future where electromagnetic pulses aren't really caused by the Stonehenge... )

Masterlist of days here.

Um, so apparently Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams are going to be sharing a panel together at Comic Con? This is what happens when fandom S'PLODES WITH FANGASMS. This, I think, is going to be the most explosive panel. I have to look through what the other guests are for all the other days but, seriously, who can't wait to see what comes from this panel with them? :D Oh, and it seems that Fred Phelps and his craycray religious followers are going to be protesting at Comic Con this year because of us heathens "idolizing comic book characters" instead of God. The shenanigans from this is gonna be gold!

Also, Nathan Fillion tweeted this with the cryptic message: "together again." WHAT DOES THIS MEAN YOU GUYS?! OH NATHAN YOU BIG TEASE.

Day 19: "They are a shiny cast, indeed"

Day 19 - Best TV show cast

They did the impossible, and that makes them mighty )

Runners up: The entire Battlestar Galactica cast, for a lot of reasons but I think it's a mixture of incredibly talented actors (Mary McDonnell, Edward James Olmos), discovering new talent along the way (Tricia Helfer, supermodel-turned-actress), and how appreciative they are about the fans and the show in general and speak very highly about the re-imagined series and the vision that Ron Moore had created with it as a whole. Particularly with Edward James Olmos, who speaks with such high praise for BSG and says that out of his entire career he's the most proud of being part of BSG the most. Especially when you hold intelligent and thought-provoking conversations with these cast members who think about the roles they're playing and the background and such, it's amazing to hear those kinds of stories and take deep appreciation and respect to their work. You don't see that often in television shows anymore, and that's why Battlestar Galactica is my second choice and gets an honorable mention in this category.

Masterlist of days here.

Hey, let's go on a two-minute date.

I'm sure everyone's probably heard about the anti-Joss Whedon/anti-Firefly essay some unmentioned person had written which has fandom in an outrage. Infuriating as it is, I've already stated my piece where it needed to be and I'm not going to add more fuel to the fire. Obviously this person has loads of hatred in their hearts for nitpicking every little detail down to its core to reveal what's not really there based on their own personal grudges and assumptions, and if they're a troll they're doing a stellar job at riling up the large fanbase community. That's all I'm going to say on the subject.

Saw the latest HIMYM episode, and Britney was cute in it! Sure I would've liked her not to come back into the media scene so soon when she needs more time to recover, but she's looking good and healthier than she had been, and looks like she had immense fun with it. Also, Sarah Chalke! Overall, a cute episode.

BTW, does anyone know what happened to [livejournal.com profile] valiant? She just disappeared suddenly yesterday, so I'm wondering if I was unaware of something that's going on or what. *is worried*

Explode? I don't wanna explode!

01. The other day I was tuned in to Read It And Weep on Disney Channel shut up okay nothing else was on and I'm a sucker for DCOMs. While watching I couldn't help but do a comparison to the character Jamie and her virtual alter ego "Is" to the Gaius/Six situation. I know, obvious right? But the way she interacts with this precieved version of herself, as the character of Is, it really kind of portrays that same manipulating relationship between Six and Gaius. I don't know, fandom has gotten to me I guess, but I found it uncanny with that whole setup. Only IS doesn't get physical with Jamie is she doesn't do what is commanded, because that would've been too controversial and violent for the PCness of Disney. Though it would've been interesting if that actually had occurred.

02. I hadn't noticed this until recently, but Freeze is officially available to purchase! I should also mention that I was at Borders some days ago and actually saw the DVDs on the shelf! Do you know how hard it is to see Asian dramas in U.S. stores? Foreign films yes, but dramas are rarely, if ever, available unless it's a special order. The only way to get them is by buying overseas or eBay. Me. Wants. The. Precious. One problem: it's at least $60.

03. I rewatched a few Firefly episodes earlier, and I had forgotten how much I loved the show. Well, okay, not forgotten exactly, but I've been preoccupied with my other fandoms lately that I haven't actually taken the time to rewatch and enjoy the series all over again. It's been years since it'd aired and let me tell you, it doesn't get old. Not ever.

Fandomosity: NaNoWriMo, Jossverse (BtVS, Morena Baccarin), Universal

Oy, happy 3rd of November! Hopefully is had a nice and festive week, what with the celebration of Halloween and such. Which only gives us two months before the year 2007, which is frightening considering how this entire year blew by so quickly. Anyway, in case some people have been living underneath a rock recently, the National Novel Writing Month officially started up this week. Personally, I am not signing myself up this year (too much college work as it is), however good luck to those already signed up!

-♠- Welcome to the Hellmouth: There's some updates on what's to be expected for the Buffy Season 8 comic book, which can be seen and read right here. Includes a fantastic colored drawing of the characters along with some small detailed information of what's to come. Small, but interesting.

-♠- Can't Stop The Viral Marketing...Or Maybe You Can: Apparently, there's been and uproar outbreak of legal actions amongst the Firefly fanbase community. Specifically speaking, Universal is now taking action against viral marketing by fans from distributing unauthorized fanmade products, which basically backlashes to their original statement of encouragement for fans to participate in marketing for the Serenity film. Basically, 11th Hour has been notified to shut down their website from selling and distributing fanmade merchandise of unauthorized Universal Property and pay a retroactive licensing fee; there's also threat of taking it to federal court for copyright infringement. I completely understand the copyrighted property underneath the law and they have the right to do so, though it's very complicated considering some fans feel cheated by Universal. I somewhat agree, because now it's being said that Universal is saying they have rights to the word "Serenity" if it's written in Chinese. I have no idea if that's been confirmed, but it does seem their "rights to studio property" is going too gorram far. It's ridiculous, to say the least.

But in any case, Joss Whedon has the calming words of Buddha about the entire situation: "You can also call it "the fact that people are taking it to their hearts." It's no different than fan fiction or any of these online communities. It's important to them and they wear it -- and that makes me proud. And I don't give a good goddamn who's makin' money off it." (taken from SlashDot Joss Whedon interview, scroll down to read his full opinion.)

-♠- How I Met Your Registered Companion: For those of you out there who watch How I Met Your Mother, it seems that the lovely Morena Baccarin will be guest-starring on a brand new episode, airing the 6th of November. Pure awesomeness!

-♠- Slayer Versus P.I.?: Which one of the two sassiest blondes would YOU choose to live with? Between Buffy Summers or Veronica Mars, I'd definitely choose Veronica. Hands down. Buffy does have superhuman strength and kicks the undead's ass, however for real life situations Veronica seems to have the snark and street smarts for everyday happenings. Plus, she's uber adorable and I could hang out with Keith Mars. *glees*

Fandomosity: Bones, Nathan Fillion, SciFi, Browncoats, Pulse

12th of August, in which I'm suspecting and hoping everyone had a wonderful time this passed week, and wishing all the best for the rest of the weekend and the future to come. Stay shiny, my wonderful peeps!

-♠- Serenity 2: Battlestar Galactica: Keeping tabs on the happenings and lowdowns on the backstage talk, it's appears that Nathan Fillion's new movie, White Noise: The Light, already has some promotional pictures for us, and is possibly due to be released on January 5th of 2007. Nathan will be starring alongside Katee Sackhoff, who most people will know her as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on Battlestar Galactica. Hmmm, I sense a cracktastic crossover!

-♠- SciFi Switcheroo: Stargate:SG1 is reaching it's 200th episode, and I think this article and the pictures featured should speak for itself. They will be spoofing off from other fantasy/scifi shows --- yes, including Firefly. I definitely am not one for SG:SG1, however I will be watching this episode along with Morena Baccarin's appearances.

-♠- "I Don't Know What That Means...": Brand new promotional pictures of Season Two of Bones! Nothing considered spoilerish as they are promotional photos, showing the cast in various poses and positions (including a brand new character, whom I do not know of quite yet). I especially like the shots of them in the morgue, with Brennan holding the human skull. Very nice, indeed. Gosh, they're all just too pretty. Thankfully, FOX is airing all their fall shows earlier than other networks, which is ultimately cool. More the merrier, I say!

-♠- Still Flying (In The Polls): Firefly was deemed the No.1 slot for Best TV Show Opening, however with the comments below there are some people who disagree with this choice and are actually bashing the "Ballad of Serenity". Clearly they misunderstand the emotional message behind the lyrics, which speaks many levels about the show in general. It's quite unfortunate, or perhaps they just haven't heard Michelle Dockrey's filk version, handsomely named "Mal's Song" because in Joss's own words, the song is really about Mal and his journey. Blah to them, is all.

-♠- Pulse...Has No Pulse: After its official release this last Friday, it seems that the American remade adaptation based off of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Pulse (which stars Kristen Bell and Ian Somerhalder) isn't doing very well in reviews, both critic and non-critic alike. This is quite unsurprising, to tell the truth, since most Western remakes of foreign horror films seem to have dumbed down on the psychological terror that are in the originals; which sometimes some go for the "Plot? What Plot?" scenario. Whether or not you liked the newer Western-version, I do suggest renting/buying the original Japanese film, Pulse (Kairo); it may or may not make a difference, but reading reviews from other viewers the majority of American audiences aren't even aware that there was a Japanese film first, and that's a real shame.

Secondly, after resisting and rejecting the idea, I think I just might consider seeing The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift; either going to the theaters or waiting until it's available to rent. Only for one main purpose: Keiko Kitagawa will be featured in it. Plus, from the reviews I've read, she's in it (or in the background of many scenes) quite a bit. I'm not much for the Fast and Furious films to be honest, however for Keiko I'll probably just watch it for her. Heh, I think I'll end up renting it and fastforwarding to her scenes if I cannot make it to the theaters.

Thirdly, so freaking exhausted from dance class, OMG. Details about that later. Now, it's dinnertime!

Fandomosity: Eliza Dushku, Big Damn Heroes, Doctor Who, Fandom Articles

Happy Friday, June 9th everyone! Wishing all the best and shiniest day and a wonderful weekend! Also a reminder for those people watching the first season of the 2005 Doctor Who series shown on the SciFi Channel, the finale airs tonight. Eeek! *gets tape ready*

-♠- Eliza Dushku Visists Heritage Homeland: Our favorite rogue vampire slayer gal, Eliza Dushku, visits her father's homeland of Albania, which she's greeted warmly by the people there, and meets Prime Minister Agim Ceku of Kosovo. She also gets a tattoo of a double-headed eagle which is from Albania's national flag.

-♠- The Truth Is Out There: For all those Browncoats who watch The 4400, it's been reported that Summer Glau will be returning for the role of Tess in upcoming episode; spoilers within the article.

-♠- Cancelled Companions: In this interesting PopMatters article written by Jodie Janella Horn, she ponders why "interesting, innovative series that you adore and worship gets yanked before its time?". Inside this article it primarily focuses on Firefly and Wonderfalls, which I agree were two intriguing and captivating series that networks failed to understand their genius storytelling. It's an interesting and insightful read.

-♠- Nathan Smells Turnipy: Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have been listed to be at London Film and Comic Con, among other celebrity lineups including Maggie Grace, Carrie Fisher, and Elijah Wood.

-♠- Kaylee Frye Speaks!: Jewel Staite updates her official blog from Costa Rica shooting her brand new movie. Lots of wacky fun she is having, and oh how much I adore her! ♥
