It's a new day, such a good day.

++ Richard Armitage narrated another audiobook, The Chimes by Charles Dickens, which you can download for free right now. (✿◠‿◠)

++ The YouTube Rewind 2015 was released a few days ago. I know some people have mixed opinions on how these particular videos have been made over the last couple of years, usually missing some vital YouTubers and seeming like a popularity contest on who gets called to be involved in the project, along with not featuring much of what was popular on YouTube throughout the year. With the first YouTube Rewind in 2012 they kind of combined popular people on YouTube with a compilation montage of some of the most viral videos, but I am always curious about the concepts and themes they want for each year, and the songs they tend to use as the official mix. And this year I'm very happy they included Lilly Singh, Mamrie Hart and Markiplier (with the obsession of Five Nights At Freddy's, very appropriate). Maybe one day they'll include Natalie Tran into the mix. One can only hope.

++ I love this time of year since it's my favorite holiday, but I also hate it because of the chaotic shopping, even if I'm just getting necessities it's ridiculous. I either have to go super early to avoid the massive crowds that come later or brave everything and risk anxiety. I finished my Christmas shopping though, so that's good, I only need to get some things for decorations and that's about it. But I still can't believe that 2015 is almost over. I feel like the older you get your perception of time is quicker, probably too quick in some cases.

I feel the same way about this time of year. I'm going to try to finish everything tomorrow so that I can just be done with it. The crowds are so stressful and people are just rude for no reason!

I was so pleasantly surprised when he popped up! Finally, after all this time! And yeah, I kind of wish they would include more lesser known YouTubers, like ones that haven't reached the millions yet but are still constantly growing. It would be a great way of getting them noticed.

My anxiety levels go up around this time whenever I have to go out anywhere, and the more crowds there are the more I get claustrophobic. But yeah, people are meaner, like I almost had someone run into me without even saying "excuse me" the other day as I was shopping. It never ceases to amaze me that holiday season automatically means lacking any common sense and decency for some people. :/

lol, oh Natalie. Such a promise of one Lamingtons video has led to a legacy she never intended, but is probably amused by, as a reminder of her constant inconsistentness.

But seriously, I love her and I'm surprised that with her YouTube legacy that she is so underrated within the community. I mean, okay, she does have a habit of going weeks and months without posting a new video, which is understandable considering she does have a job outside of YouTube. But with the quality of content and comedy she does I think she far more deserving of more views/subscribers.

2015 lasted about 6 months for me. I'm only 33, I fear how short a year is going to be by the time I'm 60.

It's pretty terrifying when you look at things in that perspective, how time flies faster as you get older. It makes you want to stop time or rewind it so you can enjoy life at a slower pace. But perhaps that is the lesson people are always saying, enjoy life now, don't take anything for granted, etc.

I hope you enjoy! I love pretty much anything that Richard ends up narrating, because I am shallow like that. But also, he picks rather good things to read from, so I'm hardly complaining. ;)

I definitely feel the same way about this time of year - trying to tie up any loose ends and finish things so that I can be done with it.

oh man i hear you on shopping this time of year! we went to target last weekend just to pick up a few things and it was a nightmare. navigating wasn't quite as awful as it soon will be, but all the lines were extremelyyyy long.

I don't know if other Targets do this, but ours makes one long line and instructs people which check-out to go to in order to avoid messy crowds and save time (and give the cashiers a bit of relief from the insanity of the season, thank goodness). It seems tedious and massive, but the line does go quicker. It's not perfect, but it makes things go a little easier with larger crowds. Of course we're still not in the thick of things quite yet, so things can become much, much worse. Regardless, even though I don't mind waiting, I hate long lines. I hate big crowds in general. :/

Oh wow I totally feel you in the holiday hecticity (pretty sure that's not a word). I love Christmas with every fiber of my being but I am waaaay too anxious to brave it out in crowds and am such a procrastinator that I end up always giving my gifts late. I too cannot believe 2015 is done - I hope 2016 is gonna be wonderful for you <3

This is why I prefer online shopping to any store shopping particularly during this time of year, if possible. I always try to get my shopping done early, mostly before or during Black Friday deals, and if there is anything I cannot find online then I will plan accordingly to brave the outside world. And I have to do that anyway with shopping for basic necessities, so I have to brave it either way. It is not fun.

Agreed on the chaotic shopping. I went shopping for a new bed today and the traffic and parking was ridiculous.

Ugh, I hate it when parking becomes a nightmare, then there are the fights to get the closest one and that is even more ridiculous. If I have to (and I much prefer it sometimes to the insanity that occurs), I'll park three lots over and walk the rest of the way to my destination. Like, people, parking is not that big of a deal, stop acting like children.

Same. Online shopping is pretty much a godsend, especially during Black Friday. I only go in store when I absolutely have to, and that's usually for basic necessities, trying on things and when I know that the store has what online doesn't. Otherwise, online shopping is my savior of my time and sanity.

There is definitely something about being older that makes it seem like years pass quicker. I remember that when I was kid it seemed like it took forever to get through a year. Now I can go months without seeing someone, but until I think about it I would've sworn it was only weeks.

Online shopping is one of my favorite modern inventions, especially during this time of year. If we had grocery delivery services around here, I would be set.

It's so interesting the shift in perception. As a kid everything was moving so slowly, hours seemed like decades, everything was much bigger and grander. As you grow older though, you realize that an hour goes by quicker than you thought, something that seemed big (like a house) is actual moderately sized, etc. I know there's a psychology to this, but it's just something I have been observing for a while.

Oddly enough, one grocery chain has a delivery service around here where you can order your groceries online, but you have to drive to pick it up. I don't know if anyone uses it, though.

I completely agree.

I mean, aside from just loving the sound of his smooth and deep rich voice (because I am shallow af), he does character voices really well. Although hell, he could read from the phone book and it would be alright with me, tbh. He has already narrated some commercials in the UK, so I'm ready for him to just appear everywhere with his voice. (✿◠‿◠)

What other audiobooks has Richard Armitage done?!!!

He's done quite a handful, actually. He has narrated several of the BBC Robin Hood novelizations, some books by Georgette Heyer, The Lords of the North by Bernard Cornwell (extremely rare to find a copy, unfortunately, besides the excerpts online (https://youtu.be/494Kqxhdczs)), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel by A.J. Hartley (watch his interview about it (https://youtu.be/rRR9tUG23r8)), earlier this year he narrated some of his favorite classic love poems for Valentine's Day, which you can also find the interview he gives here (https://youtu.be/3UT2P8cDG5I). He also did an excerpt of the proposal scene (https://youtu.be/thFANxm44XU) from North and South, though I wished he had done the entire book. Along with The Chimes as linked above, he has also recently recorded another Charles Dickens novel, David Copperfield, which will be released sometime next year.

It's good that you finished your Christmas shopping already so you don't have to deal with the crowds that much. Even if Christmas isn't as busy over here with presents (a lot of people use Sinterklaas for that), it's still usually incredibly busy in stores and grocery stores this time of the year and you're right: it's no fun.

And that's my impression too: the older you get, the quicker time seems to go by. It's crazy, really.
