And it's only Tuesday.

The song used in the promo is "A Little Taste" by Skyler Stonestreet
++ Why The Public Slut-Shaming of Kristen Stewart Matters For Young Women
This article is amazing, as is this one that was written a while ago, and both pretty much describes my feelings on this particular issue. I have other feelings and thoughts as well, which I feel like it will turn into a complete rant. But I will simply state this: after everything that has happened, I will stand by and support Kristen Stewart because the blatant sexism only to blame and shame her is absolutely disgusting. This kind of shit continues to happen to women everywhere and it needs to stop.
++ EXCLUSIVE: Meet Billy, the first gay male Slayer of the Buffyverse comics. Jane Espenson and Drew Z. Greenberg gives a detailed interview discussing this new character that will be introduced in Buffy Season 9, issue #14. Essentially, his character isn't called and he doesn't have superpowers, but decides to fight vampires and demons regardless. There seems to be some debate going on with comparing Billy to other male characters of the universe who similarly hunt and fight vampires, but reading the interview I got the feeling that his story is going to be more symbolic and circumstantially it is different when compared to other characters like Gunn or Wesley or Xander. In my opinion, judging from the interview and description itself, it seems like Billy is choosing to self-identify with being a Slayer, fully embracing and being empowered by the mythology and the strength of the Slayer line, and something he can most identify with on a personal level. I think this is more significant than, say, a male character saying they are a demon hunter or fighter. We'll just have to wait and see how the story itself turns out.
++ There's been a lot of hate in fandom lately, and I mean just in general in multiple areas of fandom. From hate mail to death threats and persistent harassment, it just needs to stop. It's one thing to express opinions, it's another to completely go too far and cross that morality line just because you can due to anonymity.

I would trust Jane Espensen with anything.

However, I don't support society's shaming and blaming of her. There's that.

But to me, the support shouldn't come from whether you like her acting ability or her personality, since that's all personal preference, but the fact that she's been unfairly scrutinized by the media because of our sexist society.
If nothing else, we need to shed light to this particular issue because it is damaging to women in general. I've seen people who hated Kristen before and used this ~scandal as a way of justifying their hatred even further. The media, the haters, they are vultures looking for fresh meat to rip apart while no one is talking about the real issue underneath all of this. This happens to women all the time, and we need to step up and stop this shit from happening. I support Kristen because, no matter what happened, it is none of my business and it's nobody else's business either. I feel horrible for Kristen because the way this has been paraded around.
I support her on the default that no one deserves this kind of treatment, no one deserves to have their private personal matters (good or bad) publicized for the entire world to see and judge.
So yeah, that's my little mini-rant.

Sometimes society puts all women in the same corner, whether they want to go to that corner or not. That's when I even feel supportive of those republican ladies...but I've gone twice on the road they're just coming from and they're not my sisters.

It's a dirty sort of hunger to see a woman they hate brought down as a slut on the figurative public square. The same dirty hunger that feeds witch hunts. On that level? Yes. I'll never Stan her though, but then...I dont need to bc this isn't rly just about her.

I may not like K-Stewart much but I know that I dislike the shame and blame game they have going on for her even more. It's terrible that when a woman is caught cheating, she is forever branded a slut and often by other women no less. When a man does it, he's forgiven very quickly. This reminds me of the recent rape cases where the rapists walked away free because the judges deemed that they both have a 'bright future' ahead of them and the girls were the ones in the wrong. It's just gross and disgusting.

"A typical conversation would go something like...
DREW: Maybe Buffy meets a gay demon hunter!
JANE: Why would anyone hunt gay demons??
(Long pause as I glare at her)
JANE: Have I used that one before?"
LOL! That is so lame!
Hm. It sounds like a good idea but my faith in media to do gay characters justice leaves a lot to be desired. Well see.

If nothing else, I see this as more of a personal journey of this particular character who has drawn inspiration from the Slayers and follows in their footsteps, thus making it an inclusion in a way. But as said already, we'll see how it goes.

And it's not just celebrities. Nowadays with the advancement of technology, anyone can pry into the privacy of anyone and broadcast it publicly online for millions to see. It's absolutely scary. :S

By the way, how is it that tabloids are able to keep operating? I've never understood that, because I thought there were laws against publishing false statements that can be proven to be false. Not that I'm saying this was false, but a lot of what tabloids publish is.

I have no idea about the laws regarding tabloids themselves, but I'm honestly curious as to why the paparazzi haven't been deemed illegal yet. From what I've observed, they are by far more damaging than anything else because they are literal stalkers. They should be charged for harassment, because that is essentially what they do to those they want to capture in order to sell such a story to gossip magazines/sites.

But I think what I'm most excited about is the Charming family reuniting together, at long last. :)
