O HAI THAR SUNDAY!
++ Not watching the Oscars. I'd figured I'll be getting updates from online anyway, though these kinds of awards I've never been interested in anyway so heh.
++ It looks like Universal is pining for a Battlestar Galactica movie, however it'll be made from the original concept from the 70s/80s complete with Spandex, Muffet the robotic dog and absolute cheese, not anything remotely relating to the incredibly epic masterpiece Ron D. Moore and David Eick have done with the re-imagined BSG that we know today. First of all, while I understand that back then the original series was like the it thing for people in the scifi world and how without it the new BSG would never exist and blahblahblah, however I think it should stay buried and in the ground, sry2say. Wouldn't it make much more sense to have an agreement to have movies based around RDM's BSG than its predecessor? IDK. I can rant about this more but it's obvious that I disapprove mightily and I hope it either gets a direct-to-DVD release or bombs significantly. But I'm betting Dirk Benedict is having a blast wanting to reclaim his throne as Starbuck since it's well-known that he absolutely despises our Kara "Starbuck" Thrace.
++ So. SPN promo for episode 4.15. Here are some of my thoughts while watching it:
I'm also curious about Castiel, is he planning on disobeying and following Anna's footsteps because he, too, has become too familiar with humanity that he cannot see why he should follow such destructive orders? What about his true mission from God that we've been told about, what exactly is it and will he not be punished if he disobeys for that purpose alone, because his ultimate purpose is to protect/watch out for Dean Winchester even if it means going against his fellow angels? In a way I can see this a testing of his faith, that even with his questioning and doubting that it's a way to see if he'll be faithful to the very end, and therefore cannot be punished for it, unlike Anna who seemed to want to become mortal and didn't care either way. Also, if they're going to be keeping Castiel around I want to know more about his involvement, why he was sent and not some other higher up angel from Heaven, and all that jazzy stuff.
Yeah, that went on longer than I had anticipated and I will be doing a separate post with furthering these theories sometime soon, because I do have some thoughts than may be popular or unpopular depending. But there you go. Also, what's this I hear that there MIGHT NOT be a season five? Are these people frakking kidding me with this bullshit? I thought we've been cleared that being picked up for a fifth season was a solid go, particularly because ratings have been higher than ever before. I guess we're still uncertain then, dammit.

++ So. SPN promo for episode 4.15. Here are some of my thoughts while watching it:
01. CASTIEL'S BACK BBS! I was majorly disappointed when he didn't return from the holiday hiatus, but it seems he'll be here when we return and is to stick around for the remainder of the season, so yay!I promised myself I wouldn't get to involved with thinky-thoughts regarding previews, since we all know previews are generally misinterpreted and misleading anyway from the jumbled up clips and whatnot, but seeing it again and again, aside from oogling at my pretty pretty Castiel, I couldn't help but wonder some things. What precisely is Dean's mission from God? Or is it directly from God at all, or is it a mission from the angels themselves who want to see what Dean's capable of? In a way I don't see why pulling Dean out from Hell just so he could torture demons because he spent his last remaining years torturing other souls be useful. Then again, perhaps there's something else to it than that, as I mentioned, that perhaps this is more personal and Dean is gaining revenge for what Alastair had done to him done in Hell, and the angels ahve something else entirely in store for his poor soul.
02. In this promo Castiel says: "I'm considering disobedience." Now, I've rewatched several times and I go back and forth whether he's saying "considering" or "considered", now the former means that he's actually going to go against his orders for something in particular, whether it's to protect Dean or prevent something from happening, however the latter suggests that because of his questioning and doubting he's admitted to before he probably has considered disobeying his brethren before but doesn't because he still holds faith in his work and mission (which from a Sera Gamble interview previously, she mentioned we will learn of Castiel's true orders from Heaven, whether good or bad we don't know). He also says "he's doing God's work", and I think he may be referring to Dean, but what work exactly?
03. Anna's back. Ugh. Can't she just DIAF now, please? Srsly. GTFO. However it seems she's communicating with Castiel, either he summoned for her or she did, and I guess I can tolerate her for that if it's plot-related. But seriously, she needs to be smited or get gone and stay gone. F'reals. Had enough of her character's bullshit and I don't want her ruining things anymore than she's already done.
04. Dean is torturing Alastair (on a huge metal Devil's Trap with him chained up either like how Dean was on the rack, and kinda symbolic to the crucifiction it seems). Alastair says something along the lines of "they brought you back to torture me?" The they being the angels, I'm presuming. I highly doubt that's what Dean's true mission from Heaven is, although I do recall something in an interview that God's plan for Dean had something to do with his time in Hell. But I don't think torturing is on that Things Dean Winchester Needs To Do In God's Name list. It doesn't sit well with me, unless Dean misinterpreted the message and thought that it's what he needs to do. Then again, God's plan is never truly revealed and remains cryptic unless one figures it out themselves.
05. Tessa's back! Remember Tessa, the Reaper from 2.01 "In My Time Of Dying"? It also appears that Dean winds up in a hospital, once again, and she relays the message about the angels having a plan for him. So she knows, at least something involving the bigger picture of things.
06. Sam. Sam using his powers, becoming more stronger than before. "I need it." Uh oh, this cannot be good. He's definitely going to go darkside, if not now then very very soon.
07. In all honesty? I'm getting bored with the Sam and Ruby schtick. Can't they have something better for Ruby's storyline than this? I mean going back to season three she seemd to want to help the boys and appear to be kickass and independent, but this season they have her becoming clingy to Sam, and quite honestly I used to love her character before but this season I'm so tired of the same old stupid stuff that I am over it. Unless they start having her do more productive stuff I am just not interested, sry2say y'all.
It kind of looks like Castiel is turning to Anna for help and instruction in the disobedience factor. Whether it's worth it, what he has to do, how to do it, etc.
Interesting point, and yeah I can see that especially since we know Castiel's becoming familiarized with humanity and that he has come to really genuinely like Dean and if something is to happen to him, he may have to go against orders, which is why he wants to know more about the consequences of disobeying. Though I still think there's a major difference with what he might be considering and what Anna had decided all those years ago when she fell -- I just hope that punishment is for all levels of disobeying and not really looking into the motives and intents behind it.
I just want her character to disappear forever, get killed, smited, dragged to Hell. Don't care, just have her gone.
Nngg. I'm not sure about the Dean torturing Alastair thing. You're right, it could be something twisted to look shocking in the promo. Might be a dream or something. I'm not quite willing to believe yet that it's actually going to happen while Dean's in a clear state of mind.
It would seem something so demented that Dean might be dreaming about it, like no more dreams about Hell he's taking control and his mind has contorted things that he's taking revenge. Though if it is happening he's probably wanting answers, whether about Lilith's whereabouts or about the Seals or something. He seemed to like torturing him A LOT in the promo, which I don't know if it's his way of payback or what. I dunno. We'll have to wait and see what it all means when the ep airs.
Darkside!Sam. Oh shit. Been waiting for this to go down
OMG INORITE? We're finally getting to that place, though I'm frightened because from what we've seen Sam has been having no problems with using his powers or starting to branch out his toughness and taking risks that his previous self would stop and reconsider. And if Sam doesn't go darkside completely, I've always predicted he just might be stepping further into that morally gray he already has tresspassed into. I mean, experimenting with his powers? Becoming stronger? This is all good if he means to exercise them for good use, but how far is too far and will he got so lost he doesn't know right from wrong?
I'm all excited and scared now about what'll happen, and this also means the rift between the brothers which is also what I've been waiting for. :D
I honestly thought Ruby would be dead by now. She's long overdue
Sadly I agree. I mean, I loved her in S3 but that was because she was actually productive and had substantial material to work with, this S4!Ruby hasn't really done much aside from her stalling for the boys in "H&H" by allowing herself to get tortured by Alastair. Other than that, she's been pretty useless, IMO. Get her something to do or let her go, ppls!

That's the one thing I really enjoy about Castiel's character, is those subtle moments where you know that he's changed since his first appearance, and after only six episodes! It's amazing, and even with watching "Heaven and Hell" his facial expressions just astound me. If anything I'm sure he's been affected by humanity a great deal, and with his liking towards Dean and knowing if something fatal is going to happen, I'm sure he'll do anything to stop it if it means for his true mission or whatever.
Not that I'm saying anything we didn't already know, but I'm just so glad they're keeping Castiel around. ;)

I didn't watch the Oscars either. I'm not really interested.
I've never seen an episode of the original BSG...kinda curious.

Besides, if there's no Six (Tricia) I am not seeing it. ;p

I just posted my theories for the show in my LJ, it's speculation at best but all the crazy theories and whining compelled me to do it.
1. I just hope he is back in 4x15, I know he has a large part in 4x16 but he needs to be in 4x15.
2. I think this ties into the true orders one of the producers mentioned some time ago in an interview.
3. At least from the promo we can see there won't be any love triangle bull-shit and her role seems fairly limited. Sadly, JM hasn't learned any facial expressions from the last time we saw her so she better have less than 5 minutes or else.
4. I am sure there is more to it, Kripke would have to be drunk to think we would buy that is what Dean is needed for. Uriel can torture people just fine, they don't need dean just for that.
5. Tessa rocks but I worry about her.
6. Now this part of Sam excites me but...
7. Sam and Ruby is boring me a whole lot. If they can't give her interesting material by the end of this season, she can go. I hope Ruby gets to do something interesting soon.

I just finished reading your theories, and I really like them. Hey, I can't say anything about crazy theories because mine can be pretty cracky at times, and in fact yours is very plausible in that I can see them happening. Some I do hope happen, actually, though it's this wishful thinking that gets our hopes high. Heh.
1. I completely agree. We've been so deprived of Castiel that we need at least some new material when we return from this hiatus.
2. Yeah, I'm very intrigued with what his true orders are and how, from that conversation, it will all turn out. It seems the more I question things the more curious I am about his true mission, and whether it's a good thing or bad thing, and all that. I should really stop analyzing so much but I can't help it.
3. God, I hope so.
4. Yeah. I think we're made to believe that's what they're referring to because of how the promo is set up, but something else is at work here. I do know that they need Dean for something, and his experience from Hell might help, but not for torturing or being ruthless, even if it is Alastair.
5. I just wanna know what she knows and why she's appearing to Dean again, telling him these things.
6/7. I've been waiting for Sam to test his potential of his powers and for this kind of thing to happen, but yeah, boredom with him and Ruby now. She was far more interesting in S3, but now they've kind of had nothing for her and, really, wasn't there supposedly some backstory to her they mentioned would be revealed this season? Or an extension to her character of some sort? We have yet to see that, and in any case I agree, if nothing comes from her character then I'd say she has to go. Sry Ruby, loved you before but nowadays you ain't doing shit for me. :/

It's funny, now that it's been a couple of days since I've seen BSG, I'm way more excited about a few seconds of Castiel in a promo than a whole episode of BSG. May be due to spending all weekend wrapped up in Dean/Castiel fics, too, heh.
Hmm, I would say "considered" but I'm not sure. There's a huge difference, you're right. Really I just want to know what Castiel's true orders are! So far I'm still clinging to your "getting to know humanity" version.
TESSA. I am pretty excited about Tessa. :D Not so excited about Sam/Ruby, but I'm not against it as much as a lot of people are, either.
Hahahha, way to go on not having too many thinky thoughts on the promo. XD Ilu, bb.

HEE! Castiel will do that to us, apparently. Not that I mind of course. AND I SAW SCANS FROM THAT NEW INTERVIEW THINGY WITH HIM ABOUT SPN! :D :D That made me ridiculously happy. Oh Misha, how ILU SFM. ♥
I'm so happy we'll be able to know or get hinted at what exact purpose Castiel was brought there on Earth for and why, and yes I still hold firmly onto that particular theory. It just makes sense, y'know? Between that notion and how attached he's come towards Dean in general perhaps his idea for disobeying goes along those same lines of doing it for the greater part of that bigger mission of his, that he's not entirely breaking himself off from his faith and grace but rather finding an alternative route of doing so. Does that make sense?
I literally gasped when I saw Tessa. I was like OMG THEY BROUGHT HER BACK YAY! :D I seriously liked her back in that one episode she did, so reprising her role must mean something. Eh, yeah, I'm not fond of Sam/Ruby. I liked the idea of it back in S3 but now? Not so much. I don't hate them I just, really wish Ruby did more than just Sam, y'know?
Hehe, I know. I'm so bad. XDDDD

OMG I WAS BEGINNING TO FEAR THOSE SCANS WOULD ESCAPE PEOPLE'S NOTICE. NO ONE was talking about it, so you've no idea how ridiculously happy it makes me that you are. Actually, you probably know exactly how ridiculously happy it makes me. :)) <3
I just hope we start finding out sooner rather than later! *impatient* They've made us wait long enough. That does make sense, though, Castiel trying to find something of a loophole in his orders and his faith. I like to think he can pull it off, I like to think it'll turn out alright for him.
I just, really wish Ruby did more than just Sam
LOL, yes, this. It feels like Ruby's storyline is getting stale. If something new happened with her, I would totally be onboard with that, but she's been doing the same thing the whole season.
no subject
I WAS KINDA SHOCKED NOBODY WAS POSTING OR TALKING ABOUT IT EITHER! Like, srsly, this is the kind of stuff people should be exploiting everywhere during a hiatus, and nothing! IT'S MISHA/CASTIEL FOR GOODNESS SAKES! Also, I'm still waiting for frame-by-frame of Castiel in that frakking promo, dammit. I wanna stare at his pretty face....
It's sad that Ruby's character has been watered down so much. And I kinda miss Katie, she had that energy about her that said C'MON LET ME HAVE SOME SHIT TO DO DAMMIT OR I'M OUTTA HERE! And you know you don't wanna mess with a pissed off Katie!Ruby. ;)

Katie definitely had more attitude, seriously.
