How do you measure a year in the life?
I want this year to end on a positive note. So here are just some of the things that happened this year which have made me happy.
So, my lovely flist, what made you happy in 2016?
01. I was gifted surprise tickets to an advanced screening of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, my first advanced screening ever and it was a lovely experience and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity.
02. Because of Fantastic Beasts, I was introduced to Colin Farrell. No explanation needed other than, yes please and thank you. (◕‿◕)♡
03. Also, Percival Graves. ♥ ♥ ♥
04. Getting back into my swimming routine, which I unfortunately took time off from for a brief period of time for personal reasons, something I regretted. But getting back into it reminded me just how much I love swimming.
05. YouTubers, particularly (but not limited to): Markiplier, Game Grumps, Nikki Limo, Lilly Singh and The Gabbie Show. I know it may sound ridiculous to anyone who doesn't keep up with this kind of stuff, but I've been following YouTubers for several years now and these are just a few of the people who I've been following that entertain and bring me joy. They make me laugh and are genuinely awesome individuals who are just doing what they love, and I often get inspired by them.
06. LEGO video games. They're simplistic, but fun, adorable and addictive.
07. Deadpool, for introducing me to everything Deadpool.
08. Fandom, for being my main source of escapism during this rough year. It's always my source of escapism, immersing myself into a fictional world or getting attached to certain characters or loving certain pairings, communicating with like-minded people about these things, but this year it particular I really needed it and it has kept me mostly sane through the difficult times.
09. Not just the beautiful story of Carmilla wrapping up its third and final season (with the upcoming feature film later in 2017), but hearing Natasha Negovanlis and Elise Bauman singing their acoustic rendition of the theme song, "Love Will Have Its Sacrifices", was something absolutely special and magical.
10. Online friendships. Connecting with people. I love you all and I wouldn't be here without your love and support throughout the years. ♥
11. Went to Disneyland over the summer and got to visit with my aunt and some of my cousins, who I haven't seen in quite some time.
So, my lovely flist, what made you happy in 2016?

I'm happy that you were happy! I wish you more sexy Colin Farrell, more fandom, more swimming and more love, happy new year!

My writing made me happy ^_^
I really want to see Fantastic Beasts but haven't had the chance yet!

I really enjoyed Fantastic Beasts. I hope you get the chance to see it soon before it leaves theaters (whenever that may be, idk how these things work).

Hope 2017 is good to you! <3

And yeah, I feel like so much of the bad often overshadows the good that happens, which is what most tend to focus on. I feel like once you write out all the good, positive things that have happened you (and to others) it places things in perspective a bit.
Wishing you a good 2017, as well. :)

Fandom was also good to me this year. I wrote some fic I'm pretty happy with. Banshee wrapped up in a satisfying way, with more of the cast than I'd have guessed surviving. I loved almost all of season 2 of Agent Carter. The Lin Manuel Miranda episode of Drunk History was a delight. My favorite wrestler won a number of significant matches and had storylines that let him be both tenacious iron woobie and cheerfully irreverent goofball at various points. <3

The Drunk History episode with Lin-Manuel Miranda was adorably hilarious, and awesome because they had Alia Shawkat as Alexander Hamilton and Aubrey Plaza as Aaron Burr, it made the entire episode, imho. And I miss Agent Carter.

- Spent a lot of quality time with my family and spent Christmas home after 6 years.
- Read a lot of great books, watched a lot of good moves and shows,...
- Came back to LJ after years and put an effort in it.
- Started making music videos again.
- Learnt to play my favorite song (and a lot of other ones).
- Got an iMac.
- Quit the worst job ever, and worked for a month a job I've never did before (that made me learn a lot and gave me back some of the confidence I lost with my previous one.
And so much more!
:D
I'm glad your Year was good!!!

My happy things: My friend getting married and she and her husband being so happy and having a great day, fandom in general, planning a trip to London with my nephew and niece and I very much enjoyed my x-mas break off from work and mostly with no school work.
Hope the new year is a good one for you :)

Fandom, writing and online friendships also helped me to get through a tough year.

Heh, the best way I've heard the Lego games described is that they're like X, but only with Legos.

The LEGO games are just so much fun. I found myself playing more of those games in 2016 than any other video game I currently have at the moment.
