Everyone loves a little blasphemy...

This is something I felt should be recc'd. Hell, it should be a mandatory rec for anyone who loves Dean/Castiel as much as I do.
The Voice of the Turtledove (Dean/Castiel, NC-17) by [livejournal.com profile] obstinatrix
Castiel was eleven years old when he first felt there was something wrong with him. He's twenty-nine, a Roman Catholic priest in a small New England village, before Dean Winchester shows him that there isn't. AU.
First of all, I normally don't do AU stories. However I was recommended this by several others and after reading the synopsis and what was going to be contained in the story, I felt like I needed to try it out because it had every possible one of my kinks involved. And you guys, this is absolutely worth every single minute of your time.

This story is absolutely amazing and beautifully written. It's so brilliantly structured and formatted, the writing and storytelling is so gorgeously built and the raw emotional ties are so powerful, even painful sometimes because you feel for the characters involved, you see the inner struggles of self-discovery and the love and the passion, hot and bothered by the blasphemy that takes place yet it feels so right, you'll love it and cry along with it I just, my God. I cannot stress enough how utterly gorgeous this fic is. I am thankful I was recc'd this story, and now I'm reccing it to everyone else who hasn't read it because it deserves to be read. There's just so much I adored about this, it's perhaps the best piece of fanfiction I've read lately. It just unfolds and unravels itself right before your eyes and you just have to continue reading, it is that good.

Plus if anyone has a priest!kink, this is definitely for you, and trust me you'll be amazed at how well it just written and wrapped up. I mean, you'll be turned on, in love and wanting more. ♥

One of my favorite Dean/Cas fics ever. I'm always reluctant to read AU's, but I gave this one a shot simply for the whole priest aspect. And I can't even begin to describe how glad I am that I did.

Same here. The description of the fic alone, adding priest kinks and other sorts of blasphemy involved, really made me intrigued by the entire story. And while reading it I was even more enthralled and captivated and I fell in love. I can definitely say, without a doubt, it's one of my top favorite stories I've read the entire year. ♥

This is the first AU I've read that I really absolutely enjoyed and loved. Now it makes me want to seek out other well-written, highly recommended AUs of a similar nature.

I'm currently reading it. I also think I'm currently going to hell for reading it, but then again, I'm not Catholic.
But, yeah, this is a wonderful story.

I am simply astounded by how utterly beautiful this story is and how well it was constructed. The person definitely had tons of research and knowledge to put it together and create such a fabulous story, and I say this being someone who hasn't really read any kind of AUs (ones that weren't just for shits and giggles, anyway). I am still in kind of awe over it. It really does captivate you immediately. Totally worth the rec. ♥

It really is, and I don't usually read AUs but damn, this one really took me by surprise. You really get engaged into it pretty quickly, and I absolutely adore it. ♥
