++ I heard about what happened on Torchwood, and while I haven't seen it I just have to say that due to the wide range of reactions seen all over, unless by some miracle everything is straightened out by the next episode, the show just lost half of its fanbase and I am totally not joking here. It's funny because I'm like way behind on watching the show and I'm not even part of the fandom anyway, but reading what happened? Yeah, I couldn't avoid it.
++ I think this has just revived my love for Katie Cassidy:
If there's any reason for me to watch the reboot for Melrose Place is for this girl, who just happens to be one of my girlcrushes. Plus, she's playing an unapologetic bisexual, which I gotta say rawr!
OH! And Stephanie Jacobsen (Battlestar Galactica, TSCC) is also in the cast as well! A pleasant surprise, for me anyway since I adore her. So, apparently two of my girlcrushes appearing in the same show that I would otherwise be uninterested in and bypass if they weren't involved. Intriguing. I wonder who else might make a surprise!guest appearance that I know of.
Even though I'd really wished Katie had stuck around to play Ruby in SPN despite the direction they took the character in season four, she's been getting amazing gigs and rising up in her career since her appearance. So, yay! I'm happy for her, and will practically follow her wherever she goes. Because she is awesome. ♥

01. MISHA-FUCKING-COLLINS.
It's totally a one word, you're right bb. ;) Anywho, what can I say about Misha Fucking Collins? I love this man so much, you have no idea. He captured my heart since his first appearance in the season premiere of Supernatural playing Castiel, an angel of the Lord, and I have been bitten my the smitten bug ever since. Misha is just too fucking adorable for his own good, from the conventions and him actively endorsing the fanbase, from his amazing acting ability as Castiel to his dorkiness in real life, his sense of humor via Twittering by creating his EPIC TWITTER SAGAS LIKE WHOA and talking about ponies and unicorns, how we should all convert to making igloos to live in and just, guh. Everything about this man is love. ♥ ♥ ♥
02. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
Perhaps the best epic television series ever. I am serious. The re-imagined series is probably the greatest reboot off of the original than any other reboot series created, there is something so phenomenal about this show that spoke to me. There are many aspects which drew me in, from the amazing and talented cast and their acting, the diverse characters and how real the atmosphere was as opposed to the cheese that science fiction often gets categorized as; proposing the realistic aspects of humanity, posing difficult and controversial questions and subject matter. Having such things like politics, religion, race/cultural and socioeconomic differences, gender equality, self-identity, war, terrorism, discrimination and ethical questions...it's not something most shows would dare enter, and RDM and David Eick pushed that envelope further than any other show would have, combined with compelling storytelling from beginning to end (and, in my opinion, having the best way of ending the entire series after four successful seasons), is just phenomenal in itself.
Battlestar Galactica to me means a compelling and fantastic television show that combines everything I just mentioned above into such an amazing story, and tops my list of the greatest televisions shows of our time. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
03. JOSS WHEDON.
For me, Joss Whedon is the voice for not only amazing storytelling, but for creating strong and empowering women. In everything he's done, he always has strong female characters featured in his works. I feel like he's one of the few out there actually giving a damn about showing the strength and courage of women and giving girls positive role models, something to look at and want to become one day (as I would rather have young girls want to become a Buffy Summers than a Bella Swan, if you know what I mean). While Joss can be a magnificent bastard with what he does in his projects, he never fails to create something I enjoy watching and I can always rely on his good judgment with handling storylines and characters. He has amazing ideas and a great sense of humor, and you can tell how passionate he is about his work and how much he loves doing what he does. And I love what he does, it's a mutual kind of love with him and us fans, and for me anything with his name attached to it I'll most likely check it out. Because it's Joss Whedon. How can you not?
04. META.
I love meta. I love reading it, I love writing it, I love everything about it. There is just something about getting deeper into a particular aspect of a certain part of fandom, like a character or storyline or plot device, that I find enjoyable and fascinating. I sometimes feel like most people in fandom don't appreciate meta as much as they should. Most will just take everything at face value without really researching or trying to think outside of the box, they will just get a knee-jerk reaction and that's it. They don't think anything else beyond that, and that? Frustrates me. I mean, why wouldn't you want to take a philosophical look at something huge like mythological arcs or understand where characters are coming from, take a character study of them or something like that? To me, I find meta not only fun but intriguing because it can spark interesting and intelligent discussions from others because many will perceive something different and you can converse with them about the topic. I think going deeper and picking things apart, you can find out so much more than you would have realized at first glance, and that is why I love meta.
05. DEAN/CASTIEL.
Oh Lord, I could go on for-freaking-ever about these two and I'm not even joking. Shorthand version: I consider them my very first OTP in SPN. I never cared about any other pairing before, but Dean/Castiel? I have fallen for it hard as season for progressed. Their relationship on the show represents something stronger than I have ever seen, it's not that brotherly bond that Sam and Dean have, it's something else entirely. kitsu84 mentioned in her description, the theme of redemption, of their personal journeys clashing together and how, when everything is said and done, they essentially need each other as they enter at that crossroads of not knowing where to go next and what to believe in anymore. Dean needs Castiel, and Castiel needs Dean. It's apparent given how they've set everything up in season four, from their bonding to the trust and what happened in the finale. They'll need each other for what is to come, to regain their strength and faith together. And, come on, how can you not love them? Seriously.
++ So it seems that SciFi wants to have another space-opera series now that Battlestar Galactica is done, wanting something along the lines of Firefly and Farscape. Part of me wants them to really consider picking up Ron D. Moore's Virtuality because, dammit, it has the potential of being a space opera mystery for sure with the setup the pilot-movie had. In fact, I think this would be the perfect time to pitch it to SciFi and see if they'll bite. Because it's RDM after all. Of course, I wonder what else they would have in mind along the space opera genre.
