Apparently this short film has gotten the possibility of a future feature film deal. There is no word on whether Adelaide Kane will be featured in it, though. She was incredible in this and I want her to be involved if it does end up happening.

Online short films have become a thing in recent years which allows people to present their story concepts for people to see, or just want to create something fun, like the latest buzz with the fan film Power/Rangers starring Katee Sackhoff and James van der Beek. Short films getting noticed and possibly getting a movie deal is quite a huge step for many creators, which is the essential part of why some short films are made in the first place. Realm has quite potential of becoming a fantastic Buffy the Vampire Slayer-esque story about a girl with a particular gift battling demons, both otherworldly and personal. Though it makes you wonder how well it could translate as a feature film. I want more stories with girl protagonists that are similar to characters like Buffy Summers, but I want it done right. This short shows us that potential of something wonderful, and in the right hands it can be. And if it doesn't happen in that medium, then I would hope for something like a limited series or a webseries.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I would watch her in anything. She's officially on the list of actors who I would endure even some of the most ridiculous, cringe-worthy things for. Heh. ;)

Reign has just been ridiculous, especially with the love triangle stuff. I know it's a CW show and that is basically the criteria for most of their programming, sadly enough, but jfc enough already.

That was awesome. I'd love to see a (good) feature film developed from that, especially if they kept Adelaide Kane.

I saw that Power Rangers one a few weeks ago. Loved that twist at the end (though I kind of saw it coming.)

Yeah, I think most people saw that twist ending coming, but it was awesome nonetheless. It brought all the nostalgia back in an epic way.

That actually looks like it'd be better suited for a TV show as opposed to a movie- but that aside, it does look interesting. I'd be surprised if they didn't keep Adelaide, partly because she's already cemented into the proof of concept.

Yeah, I also find that some stories may be better suited for certain medium forms than others, like movies instead of television or miniseries instead of a movie. It basically all depends on the execution of the project.

I love short films and I'm so glad that so many of them are getting noticed and get movie deals. Which is great, but like you also point out, sometimes it makes you wonder if it could translate as a feature film. Because sometimes it just doesn't, sometimes it very well does. Loved this short film that you linked to btw, I think they could definitely make a great feature film about it, just not if they follow this story that closely. I'm curious now what they'll do with it. And yes, Adelaide Kane is awesome in it!
