THE CABIN IN THE WOODS

If you ever want something new and fresh regarding a horror movie, this is it.

The title appears to be like your stereotypical Hollywood slasher flick, but immediately you're thrown through a loop at the beginning credits and continues to do so throughout the whole movie. It will leave you wondering and guessing until the very end. Joss Whedon described this movie to be a "loving hate letter" to all those stereotypical gore horror films that have been coming out in recent years, and boy was he right. Cabin in the Woods is the Scream of today, taking those modern horror movie cliches and turning them upside down and inside out and is just an incredibly original self-aware horror story. They don't skimp on the blood, the gore, the monsters (of every kind), the comedy, the plot and of course that ending. All I can say is, wow. Just, wow.

I was very impressed with this movie, how the story was structured and how they went about it. Even with how the movie ended was rather unexpected.

Major kudos to Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard for creating something so refreshing. And it's been a long time coming, too. Been waiting years for this movie to get out and I'm happy it finally was able to shine. I think it's the perfect timing, too. So far it has been getting rave reviews and even over 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is very impressive and a huge compliment. And it really deserves it, in my opinion.

I definitely encourage those into these kinds of films to go watch it. You won't be disappointed, in fact you'll be surprised and wondering what in the hell happened, but in the best possible way.

Unrelated: I hate hate hate the new ljcut format. Argh.

The new LJ-cut is so dumb, and it was such a ridiculous thing to change. Wah.

Hee. I used the CSS and so your cut had a double bracket. :D

But seriously, use the CSS, it's awesome.
