Bear McCreary does amazing work. Agents of SHIELD's soundtrack sounds like a blockbuster superhero movie soundtrack and still is its own thing. I also love the Black Sails soundtrack.

I'm the same with new shows from actors I like. I still never tried Conviction despite Hayley Atwell, Manny Montana, and Shawn Ashmore being part of the main cast. It didn't sound that interesting, got bad reviews, and online reactions were far from favorable.
So far, I've always been pleasantly surprised watching older shows though.

Netflix probably has lost a lot of popularity since this meme started alone...
