Yep, she's very different from Kara. I mean, they have the same sharp edginess but they're certainly nothing in comparison, but I would love to learn more about her character.
They sure went for the mood whiplash with Billie's module. Starts out eye-roll-y, then the most disturbing part of the episode happens.
That's Ron Moore for you, taking the opportunity to create an uncomfortable moment in something that should've been kind of lighthearted fun (even though BSG didn't have as much lighthearted moments, it definitely had the unnerving bits which make it hard to watch). I think adding this element to the show was a bold move for a pilot, saying to the audience just whether if this is the show for them or not.
Interesting to think this could be set in BSG's future.
Maybe. The whole "all of this has happened before" cycle could, in fact, repeat in such a way from this storyline.
